4.0 out of 5 stars A difficult to find, popular XTC song available here on Amazon.com for MP3 Download, August 1, 2009

This review is from: Dear God (2001 Digital Remaster) (MP3 Download)
This XTC song "Dear God" is difficult to find on Compact Disc. I once owned this XTC song on a Vinyl LP.

As a fan of 1980's Music and a XTC fan I find this song "Dear God" to be very compelling, provocative and impactive in nature.

This XTC song "Dear God" was not included on the original release of the XTC album "Skylarking" but was included in later issues of the "Skylarking" CD when Geffen Records removed a track on "Skylarking" called "Mermaid Smiled" and substituted this track "Dear God".

I remember hearing this XTC song played on the FM radio in California in 1986 on KROQ 106.7 FM when this song was released. Some Radio Stations or Radio DJ's throughout the world refused to play XTC's "Dear God" for various reasons, in my opinion because this song "Dear God" was considered at the time to be too controversial in nature.

Sarah McLachlan recorded (or "covered") this XTC song on her album "Rarities, B-Sides & Other Stuff" in 1996.

This Amazon MP3 Download of XTC's "Dear God" has very good sound quality and is very acceptable to listen to.

If you recall this XTC song or are a fan of XTC I recommend this Amazon MP3 Download for purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars good music, good teaching tool, February 7, 2010

Great discussion-sparker to get teenagers talking about concepts of god and divinity. Even though it's "old" music, they liked it better than Kanye's "Jesus Walks" this year.
