Bold and Muddled,
By A Customer
This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
This is a difficult book to review. I will give 5 stars to the underlying message that Ms. Grabhorn is trying to convey. Perhaps her most important message is that not only does our negativity run deep, but it is being actively manipulated by other energies and entities, which she calls "The Others." As a student of spirituality and metaphysics for over fifteen years, I have known for some time that many "darker" entities have been around us and feeding off our negative energies. The wave of light coming onto the planet, which she calls "Psi," has been described by various sources as well. However... Her story about the birth of the Cosmos, including "brothers" Abe and Lucifer was mildly interesting but far too long and rambling. Editing was needed here. I have a number of nitpicky issues with her reasoning. For example, she claims that her Primary Guide (aka Higher Self) was not 100% of the Light; but by definition the Higher Self is that aspect of self that *is* entirely in Light. So this part was a little confusing. There is also a thread of victimhood running through the book. She was fine before "The Others" started messing around with her. What she experienced, which was basically a Dark Night of the Soul or a spiritual emergency. Hello, there are LOTS of people on the planet who have gone through or are going through this. I'm not denying its impact or that "Others" were involved, but it just sounds like she didn't much understanding of the process, even in hindsight. She should read Gopi Krishna's "Kundalini," Richard Moss' "The Black Butterfly," or even "Spiritual Emergency" by the Grofs to put her experiences in perspective. As well, "Practical Psychic Self Defense" by Robert Bruce is an excellent reference to the many kinds of negative energies that are out there. It took her such a long time to finally preface her pendulum questions with "In the Name of the Light." And despite the strange answers from her "swinger" she nonetheless continued to abuse the tool. She was trying to get answers while under extreme physical and emotional duress as well as having returned to alcohol. These are all violations of basic Divination 101 principles. And finally, she claims that practically no channeled information can be trusted these days, so how are we to trust her information? One needs to do more than simply preface all statements with "In the Name of the Light." To be a clear channel requires much self-work, emotional clearing, honest self-examination, physical health, and abstinence from substances such as alcohol. So in summary, I give this book three stars. 5 for its message which I believe despite it's muddledness, and 2 for its delivery.

Scary, But Important,
By "kpocc" (Washington, DC United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
I read this book a few weeks ago and struggled with the words to describe it here. At the time that I bought it, no one else had reviewed the book, and I wish that I'd written sooner. First of all, I think Ms. Grabhorn was very brave in putting this book out there, and I applaud her for her guts. It is definitely a dark work, and it was a struggle to follow the author to the conclusion. She warned the audience that her words would sound crazy. And indeed, they did. But (and this is a big BUT), the picture she ends up painting of our modern world rang true for me. We do live in a very negative world, on a planet that is dying a little more every day. Many of us who are merely seeking answers, with the very best of intentions, do unwittingly feed the sometimes less than noble agendas of those around us, be it family members, politicians or (as Grabhorn puts it) "The Others". The author's advice amounts to not putting blind faith in guidance, channelers, psychics, etc. without doing some protection work first. Whether you agree with Grabhorn's reasons or not, this type of caution is vital. Her ultimate recommendations amount to psychic self-defense, and her steps are simple to perform, but out of respect for her wishes, I won't describe them here. I think the work would be much more well received if she had simply described her journey and methods, rather than starting from a story of creation and working forward... more so because our world has little tolerance for cosmologies that can't be scientifically proven, and Grabhorn is hardly neutral in her description. Sadly, as the other reviews show, most readers will lose the simple treasures of the author's learning because the rest of the story is entirely too daunting, too scary, and too far fetched for most to take. The work is polarizing by nature: if you accept the picture she presents, Planet Earth is the scariest battleground in the cosmos, and if you don't, the author is "delusional". Both could be true, or neither could be true. It's up to the reader to decide. I'm not convinced that the universe works the way Grabhorn described, but I do feel her steps are worthwhile, and I would recommend them to anyone who feels called to New Age pursuits and is putting themselves out on a higher path. Especially if you find that your path somehow seems to be draining you when you're trying to do some good in the world.

Excuse me...did you even READ your first book?,

This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
.... This is a very sad book. I was torn all the time I was reading it. I consider myself to have an open mind and not make quick judgements about people. But much of this book was very hard to take. The reader is left with the image of a woman who has left her own judgement behind and has imersed herself in the world of channelers and "swingers" as the sole guidance for her life. Relying on these sources and their contradictory and vague "information" it's no wonder the author sinks deeper and deeper into her mess. The end result of this book is to offer several phrases that the reader is supposed to say aloud one time to ward off the evil forces and intentions of the dark that she describes. Lynn Grabhorn acknowledges many times throughout the book that she is aware how crazy most of this sounds (understatement). Her source for the information she sites as fact is simply the information she got from her other-dimension, other-world entities that she channeled. In order to finish the book at all, you MUST accept the premises and the scenario she sets forth as the truth for the beginning of our universe. Or simply ignore it as ramblings and yet another person's opinion, and then keep reading to see where this could all possibly go. I'm sure Ms. Grabhorn is convinced that what she presents in this book is true. Since we all create our own realities, this is definitely the reality she created for herself for years. She believes it. But it is hard to escape the feeling that the author is delusional and could use some good counseling. And a break from some of the self-proclaimed healers and others she surrounds herself with. I'm left wondering if Ms. Grabhorn even believed the information in her first book, Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting. It appears she simply wrote that book but didn't take the principles to heart. When I first read "Excuse Me..." I thought it presented new, exciting info. But then as I explored the topic of the book further, I realized that the book was simply a compilation and re-write of many other books and ideas of authors who had come before, including Mary Baker Eddy and especially the Hicks family...even the basic principles taught by Dr. Wayne Dyer. I hope this review is helpful. I really struggled to come up with the words to convey my feelings after reading this. All I can do is shake my head. It was a struggle to finish this, because, quite frankly, this was just too depressing.

A MUST FOR THE SPIRITUAL QUEST!!,
By Michele (Sedona, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
Most people are missing the point of this book. This book turned my energy around and NOTHING else did. Before I read, "Excuse me your Life is Waiting," I, too, was teaching everybody to "Raise their Frequencies. After September 11,2001, I ended up with the exact same symptoms that Lynn Grabhorn mentions in her book. She was knocked out by the Others and so was I, until now. I have suffered for 1 1/2 years with no energy, exhaustion, fatigue, and little if any passion for life. I was always a high energy, positive person. I didn't know what happened to me. Ofcourse, I went to every doctor under the sun, and no one could find anything wrong with me. It got so bad last week that I begged God for answers. Last weekend, I walked into a bookstore crying, not knowing where to turn. I looked up and there was Lynn's new book, "Dear God, What's Happening to Us." I must say I had a strange reaction to it at first and it was as if I had to fight forces to open the book and read it. Once I did the 6 steps in the book, my energy turned around INSTANTLY! I have not suffered since I read her book. Everything turned around in the last few days. My money situation, my energy was returned, and the fear was gone. This book is a warning. If you don't want to go through "the dark night" as severly as Lynn Grabhorn went through it, then read it. SHE SACRIFICED HERSELF SO YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO SUFFER. I know that sounds religious, but that's not it. She went through it so she could put out of the message. And she is being attacked left and right for it! I put an email out to my clients about it, and I was attacked as well and some of them wanted off my email list. Oh well, Free Choice. There are so many energies that are misleading us, especially in the "new age." But you may have to find out for yourself. When there is no where else to turn, read this book. It took 1 1/2 years of pure hell and searching for me. I wanted to die, but once I did the steps, the suicidal feelings vanished and my strength was returned. PLEASE READ IT! IT'S IMPORTANT!

Weird, wild stuff,

This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
I would like to mention that I like Grabhorn's conversational style, and did not find the book hard to understand. And she comes off as one who genuinely wants to help. Maybe there is truth in what she writes--But I would like to raise several questions and hesitations I have about it.I am a very open-minded person, but I have to say, I find this book a bit creepy. Being steeped in a Buddhist tradition, the degree of DUALITY--the idea that there's this big battle between "good" and "evil" just doesn't ring true to me, and if that's what's really happening at such deep levels of reality, then that's really depressing, because I was hoping that mostly happened in the human realm. There is a great deal of anthropomorphism in this book--humans are said to be the only species in the entire universe who possess the entire knowledge and grace in the unverse in all history; this particular few years is the culmination of a millenia-old "battle" between cosmic "troops". Maybe we're special, I don't know--just seeing as I *AM* one, it does occur to me to question--"gee, maybe the fact that I think humans are so special has something to do that *I'm* a human." Grabhorn assures us that if we raise our vibrations a little, it'll all work out for us, because we'll transcend to another palent Earth. Okay, but what about the trees, and the plants, and the animals? She encourages us to ignore addressing the problems on this planet, because we're going to transcend to another planet. Frankly, I want to address the issues here out of LOVE, and would never want to stop. The Bodhisattva way would be, if I saw there was massive suffering coming, then I would want to do what I can to help alleviate that suffering. But in this book's cosmology, that's not what we're supposed to do, because we're not supposed to care about these "dark creatures". One thing that doesn't make sense is that she says the "Others" are just slightly less highly-vibrating than God, so then why are they so dark or jealous or easily bored or uncreative? Frankly, these are attributes that even HUMANS can learn to evolve out of. This book feels a little bit like the New Age version of an evangelist's admonition: believe what I say or else. And it's downright creepy the way she says you can't trust your guides, because some of them might be secret "bad guys". Frankly, all of this largely stirs up fear and doubt in me in a way that doesn't feel helpful at all. (That is... unless it's all true... and there are secret "dark" forces out there, and if I don't say the incantaion they'll get me... Geez, I haven't felt this paranoid since I was a kid and people tried to get me to believe in their fire and brimstone religion.) She attributes all the pain and difficulty we're having right now to unseen forces. Well, for all I know those do have an effect. But when I observe people on the micro level, it does not surprise me all that much that on the macro level, the world has a lot of trouble. I have always figured it was due to the preponderance of young, inexperienced souls, "children" that can't quite figure out what they're doing yet. The Buddha, 2500 years ago, attributed these human difficulties to aspects of the human mind. But Grabhorn would have us believe that, even then, it was "dark forces" that were actually manipulating us. So I guess the Buddha was wrong. If God has decided to finally release this until-now secret information, then why, for goodness sake, didn't "he" do it through several different people? I have found that the deepest truth, comes to bear a tremendous amount of similarity--be it Conversations with God, or The Tao Te Ching, or a book by Thich Nhat Hanh. I am open to the possibility that it has aspects of truth to it, but also to the idea that it's not true.

Summary of the Mummery,
By S. Sterling (Irvine, California United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
There was an old woman with notions not newShe told lots of people what they should do. She hoisted the covers up over her head When people explained where her theories led. I'm an open-minded person. I believe it's probable, possible and evidential that we live in a age-old battle between so-called good and evil, and that we can be affected by entities that exist in other dimensions. I agree with Ms. Grabhorn that lower vibrational entities can provide deceitful channeled information with the appearance of a truthful source and that they can attach themselves to us and adversely influence us. I like the methods to clear negative entities that may be posing as guides, higher self, etc. These methods are really the only things that could be worthy of publishing. However, they are fundamental to Huna and other shamanistic practises, so no new revelation here. Most of the book is a lengthy rambling, sometimes contradictory, and often simplistic and occasionally crude. The claim that its contents have never been published is not true which makes her even less credible, especially when the book also says this story has been around for thousands of years and is in most major religions. That's one of many contradictions. Readers should know that this concept of other-dimensional entities has been written about in much better books by Carlos Castaneda and David Icke to name but a few. So Ms. Grabhorn is not the original herald she claims to be, but merely rehashing already expounded concepts just like she's done in her previous work. One thing I find highly repugnant is her total apathy towards making any effort to change the world for the better since supposedly we as 'Light beings' will teleport to Earth planet #2 (reminds me of an used book on the shelf published in 1993 proclaiming Ashtar Command would rapture people off the planet when the world ends in the year 2000). This is reckless advice considering the state of the planet. What would happen if people like Ghandi or America's Founding Fathers decided not to make a difference and instead, followed Grabhorn's advice and did nothing? To quote Edmund Burke, "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing." The incongruent cosmogony channeled by her pendulum ('swinger') after she allegedly started invoking 'the Light' seems just a regurgitation of judeo-christian myths, especially using the decidedly biblical names Abraham & Lucifer. And the statements that they are brothers makes little sense in the literal interpretation. Are they really male? With male anatomy? That gives rise (no pun intended) to interesting debate. Despite the great examples throughout existence of a clear duality of female and male, yin and yang, etc., why the original entities as exclusively male only? Seems more than a little tainted by heavy patriarchal social conditioning. In fact, it appears quite geared toward selling copy to the western mind steeped in these judeo-christian influences. Aside from her dubious cosmogonical supposition, here's the main problem I have: Ms. Grabhorn states that Lucifer is the prime negative entity of 'The Others' who are warring against humanity. And she emphasises the need to invoke 'the Light' and start every dowsing question with 'In the name of the Light...' in order to keep clear one's self from Lucifer and his minions. However, the name Lucifer is Latin for 'Light Bearer' - one who brings the Light. If we're to follow her advice and invoke 'the name of the Light', the 'name' of the Light is Lucifer! I have emailed her asking for an explanation of this glaring contradiction and will post her reply if she provides one. My advice: Save your money. If you want the 7 affirmations/clearings, you're better off writing them down and not buying the book.

Key peases of information,

This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
Read Dear GOD! a couple of nights ago night. I've previously read "Excuse Me," which is why I bought DG. My reactions early in the book was questions like "Genuine problems, but why does she have to fall into the 'absolution by external entity trap,' which is the basic control pattern enforced by religions." and "Too much Christianity residue". But giving her benefit of doubt I red on to get to know her perception of what's going on.I'm a Healer, and I know about the shadow. When I do Healing I walk into a 3D energetic space and restore energetic structures in my clients - working closely with Animal Spirits - and I have many times encountered and dislodged invasion of vapiric shadow material, shadowy areas and barriers that needed pounding through and dissolving, and shadowy black holes where the energetic structure of my clients needs to be rebuilt. This black oozing energy is intelligent or connected to intelligence. I can feel emotions and thoughts from them sometimes, and they aggressively resist dislodging. I have some Ace allies and a knack for going outside boxes, so I've been fortunate to win my battles, but it has been close sometimes. These healing sessions facilitate the fastest and most tangible results I see. (No this is not journeying, it's different) What I perceive about guidance from the other side is that we tend to receive information in concepts we can understand and that deliberately accessing the other side for information is a trixome undertaking. There are other limitations besides deliberate misleading that Grabhorn didn't address, but the double and triple-checking she describes should clear those confusions out too. Point is, what she received she received in words and images she can understand and work with. There are heavy Judaeo-Christian mystical concepts used. Yuck. She's an unstructured and repetitive writer, and this time she seems to be bludgeoned backwards through her text, which doesn't help. Deleting some stars for style is definitely due. She's also working with the understanding that the rising of Earth's energies and ours will result in a Jesus-like ascension on a grand scale to what she calls "Planet Two". What Earth usually does when she needs to tackle a rampant species is tilt her axis or order a meteor-strike to initiate a cataclysm big enough to suffice. There are other perceptions too, and we'll eventually see which is the closer. The critical point of information she conveys in this book is that about deals we've entered into with "The Others" or these shadowy things, and how these deals cuts us off from health and joy; and that we now can revoke them and sack the guardians that do not benefit us. This is what's new, and I certainly haven't seen this before. She gets her deleted stars right back for exceptional importance. Since I stated the verses with clear intent a couple of nights ago, I've been in a major cleansing process - not comfortable, but it's working. Our guides and helpers are restricted to what they can say or do or help us with according to these deals that are binding us - at least that's what the one I've been working with confirms. By cancelling the bindings she points to, we cut loose and can step fully into our health and power. Critically important. I have perceived this shadowy energy as a kind of cosmic counterpoint natural to the process of human choice, as the universal mechanism for manifesting the darker energies if we choose that path; something growing out of dysfunctional patterns of thinking, emoting and relating. It has taken me years to unravel social structures and in humanity today universal misconceptions about thinking feeling and relating. What I haven't been able to account for is the tenacity of the system that bogs us down, or the magnitude of the difficulties when we wish to choose what serves ourselves and what serves Life of and on this planet - or just plain be kind with ourselves; that, and the intelligence of the black energy. The magnitude of gross stupidity and shortsightedness in our politicians and business people - factoring in an absence of deliberate malign will in most cases. Even given that questioning as a skill has been deliberately culled - and people asking questions has generally been killed all through the so-called "rise of Civilization" hoax. What she provides in this book is an explanation for the stickiness of the mechanisms that I perceive. On one hand it is so far fetched that it's easy to discard on whatever convenient reason. On the other hand I see the black goo at work when I heal, and I see how it almost strangles people who try to fight it. If it's all as it's supposed to be, then Earth is the Navy Seal boot-camp of the Universe - and that picture does not ring true with what I see in nature. So, I'm buying her story until I can unravel a better explanation. End

If you're familiar with any of the David Icke books, (especially his new one, "Tales From The Time Loop") buy this book. If you have some minimum understanding about concepts such as the 'manipulation of mankind', global conspiracy, etc., buy this book. Otherwise, this little book will be too much (see other reviews) and you'll think it's all just a bunch of crap/nonsense...which it is NOT.I've long maintained that when humanity finally begins to 'wake up' and become aware of the EXTENT of the gross manipulation of mankind behind the scenes; when this manipulation finally becomes irrefutable.... there will be massive admissions to psychiatric hospitals. People will not take kindly to having their belief systems shattered. Yeah, this book is not for everyone. Discard it if you're not ready for it, or don't buy it at all; but a lot of peope ARE ready for it. The style is simplistic, yes. The message is important only if you're looking for answers. You are not crazy. Something really is happening to you, and there IS something you can do about it. Outside forces ARE impinging on our day-to-day existance. Incantations? So what?? We are a Sovereign Beings, and those "incantations" are powerful directives based on spiritual Law.

Thank God, that writers like Lynn are finally writing books that deal with the darker side of metaphysical subjects. This book is the answer for anyone who feels oppressed, depressed, in despair or just cant make their lives happen in a successful way. If you are one of these people take heart. Lynn has the explanation and the answer. According to Lynn,( and a growing number of writers ) humanity has been manipulated, used, humiliated and disgraced by entities from other dimensions. They in effect live off our negative emotions as nourishment, thus it is in their best interest to create as much suffering as possible. This information is common knowledge in shamanic circles. Im glad somone who is a "Light and Love" writer had the guts to put her experiences with these beings on paper. But far better is the fact that Lynn was given a solution to put this manipulation to an end once and for all. If you are execting another book like Excuse Me, forget this book. Dear God is a scary, powerful book.If you have an open mind and want answers, READ THIS BOOK NOW.It will change your life.

This review is from: Dear God, What's Happening to Us?: Halting Eons of Manipulation (Paperback)
This book is truly warmed over Gnosticism, with some "new age" (I guess) practices thrown in; and that, in itself is OK. What is not OK is the conclusion the book leads the reader to. "It's all going to come crashing down, anyway; and besides, YOU (special, priveledge person that YOU are), have an escape route. So don't bother to do anything." Does this sound familiar? Isn't this the message of the fundamentalists with their "The rapture is coming and Jesus is going to burn it all up, but YOU have an escape route, so don't bother to do anything." So, they bag the gospel and destroy the creation and neglect the needy and start wars and feed their own prosperity.
The times must really be critical, if this much effort is being put forward to paralyse the entire population with inaction. Ms.Grabhom is correct that we are charged with assisting in redeeming creation. That our actions will contribute, in a vital way, toward setting the universe right, but not by inaction, not by projecting warm fuzzies to the oppressed, not by indifference. I would like to modify some of the suggestions on page 169. Flow those same feelings to: the pencil on your desk - and use it to write to a serviceman stuck overseas, or your local newspaper or politican to protest the war, or call for more care of God's creation, or more humane socail policies; or to fill in an application to join a service organization. your door knob - to open it to attend a demonstration to end homelessness or hunger; or volunteer in a soup kitchen, or attend a church to gather together with others who will pray and work to make the world a better place. every red light you see - to scan the street for some one who might need your help; or just to take a quiet moment with the creator to catch up. speck of dust, tooth brush - to be still and get guidance from the divine. your computer - sign petitions, write e-mail, search the web to be better informed about the current issues in the world (buzzflash, sojourners, verified voting are some good starts with links for many more), and then write more e-mails about what you have found. your boss - invite him to dinner, take an interest in what's happeinig in his life, and if it sucks don't hesitate to empathize. your empty checkbook - and reflect on John Wesley saying "if I die with more than ten pounds in my pocket, count me a liar" or how two thirds of the world lives on less than two dollars a day, than find a buck or two (maybe it's in your sofa) and give it to a homeless person. your towel - and remember some people don't have clean water, and discover some of the innovative things being done to provide water in Africa. the "fellow" on the freeway - take a moment to ask God to bless him; and realize that we all make mistakes and have concerns. every green car on the road - and every car with a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker, realizing that we all make mistakes and praying for their enlightenment. every bug you see - realize that every creature big and small is loved by God, then adopt a pet, call for an end to the slaughter of wild horses, protest the inhumane conditons at factory farms, buy truly organic and local, become a vegetarian. Spend your energy, God will make more. Love is the one thing that the more you give the more you have. We can participate in the rebirth of the universe, but not by retreating. |
