Dear Margaret, Today I Died . . ., November 8, 2011
This review is from: Dear Margaret, today I died ... letters from Vietnam (Hardcover)
This book is very easy reading and one gets caught up immediately in this lovestory of letters from the Lieutenant Col. to his new wife of one and a half years. It is sad because of the outcome which is of course told in the title. It is very sad to read for me because it was my Mother and my Stepfather. It certainly changed the course of their history and made for a very sad life for my Mother, who has just died this year from Alzheimers, still waiting to see him come home. I believe she never believed he came back in that bag and that he would come hobbling up the driveway with a cane to be with his true love. We miss her very much and we still and always will miss his smiles, laughter and loving ways; and oh yes, his telling us to SHAPE UP!
