5.0 out of 5 stars Romatic Comedy Blog
A really sweet romatntic comedy that captures the current Internet trend of blogging in which the lead female gets caught up in using blogging as a therapy. Very nice entertainment and certainly very current.

1.0 out of 5 stars B-movie of worst kind
B-movie "comedy" that's the opposite of funny. It was painful to just sit through the screening. I can't believe these kinds of movies even get made.

Please save your money or give it to charity.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch before blogging, November 12, 2008

This is a very funny guy humor movie set in a girl's movie world - perfect for date night or whatever. With all the blog-addicts out there, I'm surprised no one's made a movie about it before. There's a great scene with David DeLuise that I couldn't stop laughing at - this guy should have his own sitcom. I bought a copy for my 14 year old daughter because it also has a good moral lesson about blogging. She watched it with her friends at a slumber party. She now thinks twice before she blogs. If a movie can get through to a teenager, it's worth a watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Add "Dear Me" To Your Favorites, December 25, 2008
This review is from: Dear Me: A Blogger's Tale (DVD)
So good.

"Dear Me: A Blogger's Tale" is one of those movies that you know will be fantastic from the opening sequence, and there wasn't a moment that followed that told me otherwise. Like this year's Forgetting Sarah Marshall, a favorite of mine, it's a quirky romantic comedy with a lot of guy humor that's balanced out with a female protagonist that is very easy to relate to. In short, it's what you would expect from an indie film titled "Dear Me: A Blogger's Tale." A quirky comedy bordering on the hilarious side of bizarre, written, directed, and acted by a group of exceptionally talented people.

Fans of Joss Whedon's work (or, as I liked to call them, the enlightened ones) are especially likely to enjoy this, because we're known for following the careers of all actors who involve themselves in Whedon's various works. Sarah Thompson played the devious Eve in Angel, and I've been looking for anything that features her in a good role since, and she pretty much made this film. She's wonderful as a lead, both funny and endearing, and beautiful in a not obvious way. Another treat for Whedon fans is Felicia Day, who played Vi in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Penny in the recent hit Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. She plays a somewhat small role, but--as always--hits it out of the park.

It obviously has a small audience at the moment, but (here's some irony for ya) its appeal is universal. If you're looking for an indie film with something for everyone, look no further. "Dear Me" has been added to my favorites.

9/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh Romantic Comedy, December 12, 2008
This review is from: Dear Me: A Blogger's Tale (DVD)
I've never seen a movie before about blogging. Some Tropic Thunder type humor mixed into a romantic comedy about the dangers of sharing your intimate thoughts for all the world to see. The male lead is gorgeous, Patrick Dempsey dreamy but better looking. Deluise has his father's [Dom] great comedic talent. The musical score alone is worth it.
