I read the web site long before the book came out, but bought the book anyway. The thing I love about it is that you can dip into it on any page and find something poignant that you can relate to it -- even if you can't relate to it. Things like "If I had known I was going to meet the woman you would leave me for when we stopped by your office, I would have put on makeup." You could do worse than read several hundred examples of what we did or didn't do for love...

Humanity at its finest. I saw much of myself and exes in this book, and if you miss your ex, dont text that jerk, just highlight the parts in this book that remind you of them and keep it around to remind yourself why they are exactly that!

More of a good coffee table book, then a good bed time read. The book was a lot smaller then what I would have thought it to be. Overall I liked the quotes, just wish it would have been more letter/note like then just a lot of small quotes.

Read it a quarter of the way when I received it. Honestly, these notes felt like they were written by teenagers and 20-year-old's who are not ready for serious relationships and/or are VERY desperate for their old ex to come back or anyone(anyTHING) that will love them.
Thought it was going to be more "heartfelt" like those of PostSecret's.
BUT, maybe it just doesn't rock my boat.

Dear Old Love managed to be simultaneously horrifically mean, utterly hysterical and heartbreakingly touching - all in the span of less than 200 pages comprised entirely of notes to exes and unrequited crushes. It is a read-out-loud book - I found myself unable to read many of the notes without commenting: "oh how sad!" or "can you BELIEVE anyone would SAY that?!" being the most common vocalizations - well, aside from maniacal laughter of course. I love the idea behind the project - the book derived from a website set up so that people could say the things they had always wanted to say but never had the nerve or the strength or the heart to actually tell another person. I don't know how much closure actually resulted from some of them, but they certainly were fabulously interesting to read!

You'll either laugh until you ache or ache until you laugh. That's because this book touches both the funny bone and the heart. How? Through a slipstream of truths. Small truths. Big truths. Truths you may not have recognized before, or perhaps you know all too well. Does this all sound a bit contradictory? No more contradictory than love itself. Face it. Love is crazy. Which is probably why it causes people to say and do such funny things. Many of which are hilariously captured here in Dear Old Love.

This was a very cute, feel good set of published notes/poems/exerpts. I loved it so much that I went through the whole book without being able to set it down.

Its a great reminder of what you feel when you are in love and once it ends. Its nice to know others go through the same thing as you.

I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend and I could not be happier. It is light-hearted and fun, perfect for anyone.

this book is SO entertaining---can pick it up & read a few lines to get a quick chuckle, or sit down & bury your nose in it to read cover to cover. great book!
