5.0 out of 5 stars This is an EXCELLENT BOOK
Well, some reviewers who are warmongers obviously have their agendas and their activists who have not read the books they are reviewing. They are part of the Neo-Con conspiracy to keep the American public in the dark about the truth. I am the author of "Land of Childhood's Fears" - a book about the Vietnam War - (just google the title and see) and so I speak with a bit of...

1.0 out of 5 stars Self-serving liberal propaganda at its lowest!!
When I sat down to read this book, I didnt really have very high expectations. I mean, it's no mystery how Sheehan feels about our President, this war, the military, capitalism or her fellow citizens. The real surprise comes from just how self-serving this book is for her. Try to find a passage where she doesn't somehow relate the topic to her "suffering". She...

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an EXCELLENT BOOK, January 1, 2007
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
Well, some reviewers who are warmongers obviously have their agendas and their activists who have not read the books they are reviewing. They are part of the Neo-Con conspiracy to keep the American public in the dark about the truth. I am the author of "Land of Childhood's Fears" - a book about the Vietnam War - (just google the title and see) and so I speak with a bit of authority. This book is so heart-wrenching that I had to read it in short sessions. It is a glaring example of the attitude of the current administration - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US - THEY NEVER CARED ABOUT ANYTHING BUT THEIR OWN GREED. My Web site has video Documentaries you can download FREE - So before you buy the negative reviews on Cindy Sheehan, learn the TRUTH. Read this book, and my book "Land of Childhood's Fears" which you can also get at Amazon. Take a week to read these two books, and your views about the war in Iraq will drastically change - download the videos from my web site and your entire paradigm structure about the country you live in will change. In the Bible, 2 Peter Chapter 3, it says that in the last days, people are "WILLINGLY IGNORANT". It is a shame that people don't WANT to learn the truth, because what they would have to do to ACT on that truth is unthinkable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Great Message, June 1, 2006
By
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
I have meet Cindy, she has paid a price that few will ever know for this war. The book is a good read and asks the questions that need to be answered.

Sad that some are using Amazon as nothing more than a place to trash an American hero. Buy the book, them give a rating you hacks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Apparently The Hired Shills Below Know ZIP About America, June 1, 2006
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
THIS is a heartfelt, well written book.NO one who did in fact 'actually read it' OR who ever heard Cindy speak in person like my wife and I (both M.D.'s) haveCould call her 'rambling' or incoherent. That statement is nothing but sheer BALONEY.Also ... Cindy represents a "small minority" ???What CAVE have you been living in? The election THIEF is down to below 30% approval in ALL categories.Cindy represents MOST Americans, and is not a 'stay on the sidelines and do nothing' person = God bless her efforts (and the upcoming movie about her starring Oscar winner Susan Sarandon will do very well). The insincere people writing below need to GET OVER their envy of this woman (Telling someone else to 'go home and grieve' or 'shut up' could not BE more unAmerican ! Fortunately our founding fathers refused to do either of those.)Who has spoken all over the planet, is greatly admired in both America and Europe andHas made a difference in changing minds, to get this 'blood for oil' phony war ENDED.

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't stop laughing, June 1, 2006
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
at the response below telling us not to buy Cindy's book. First of all....TOO LATE!!! I already have it and it was wonderful...well written and straight from the heart......which is why the rightwingers can't comprehend it...they have no heart. The last sentence was a real gem.....Cindy is "hurting our country". Last time I looked it is GEORGE W. BUSH who is president and it's HIS POLICIES that is hurting......ummm,I mean KILLING this country. Cindy has a right to speak out against bush, isn't that what the rightwingers are always telling us......the troops are fighting for our FREEDOMS...or is it just the rightwingers freedoms they are fighting for? If the right would use all that energy they spend on hatred and bitterness for a good cause they would feel a whole lot better. That big chip they carry around on their shoulders has to be a burden. With 30% approval rating that bush has,you rightwing folks are the ones in the minority. Get over it already. Your party is toast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Give the woman a break!!!!, July 20, 2006
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
the woman lost her son in a war that should not be! I am a republican who feels our President is a moronic liar.Whether her issues are from the left does not matter. She lost her son! What's wrong with you people who are critical of her. The truth surely hurts, doesn't it. Why don't you go pick on Ann Coulter.....she is a real class act now, isn't she??? She is an embarrassment to all republicans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dear President Bush, August 14, 2006
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
I find the rantings of some of the reviewers to be extremely disturbing. For any moral, humane human being could not justify the EVIL, MAD behavior of George Bush, nor could they justify the illegal, immoral Iraq war. If one has any integrity and/or morality than one could naturally see the kindness & intelligence of Cindy Sheehan, who believes in peace & humanity. Not blood for oil like this country's sick President & his blood thirsty administration. If only the entire world was made up of people like Cindy Sheehan, then there would no longer be hatred or violence. For it is our foreign policy that creates anger and violence here and abroad. It is not "our freedom" as our moronic President likes to chant. That is absolutely ridiculous and it is only the uneducated herd that could even fall for such drivel.

She presents herself as the ultimate martyr who knows the depths of loss and pain and greiving the likes of which you will never, can never and should never feel. There is no empathy in this book for other mothers or fathers who have lost sons in this war and still support the war, our troops or America in general. Cindy Sheehan seems to have created this little world for herself in which she is the omnipotent deity who hands out emotions and caring to those whom she feels are worthy.
Now, I'm sure any of her minions and other anti-America/anti-Military/anti-war "activists" will buy up this book by the box load to try and push it to the top of the best-seller charts. But don't be fooled!

1.0 out of 5 stars Useful Idiot, July 7, 2006
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
I bought a copy at the local Goodwill for a quarter, I feel I was ripped off. The book is total lunacy, since Cindy would prefer to live under Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, if her book sales have generated over $423, I would recommend that she move there.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another poorly written book by Cindy Sheehan, August 25, 2006
By
This review is from: Dear President Bush (City Lights Open Media) (Paperback)
As with her other book, this book is another outpouring of grief over her loss. I have read her other book, and found that this one is also poorly written.

For the other reviewers who would like to use the book review option to voice their political opinions, I have a small favor to ask. Would you please stick to reviewing the books?
