For the Marguerite Henry devotee,
This review is from: Dear Readers and Riders. (Hardcover)
The correspondence in this book between Marguerite Henry and her readers provides two valuable things: a behind-the-scenes look at "the making of" many of her most popular books, and a heartwarming portrait of a writer who genuinely loves the children (and adults) she writes for. It's an ideal and absorbing read for those who have voraciously devoured Henry's stories, although without an existing knowledge of the books -- and without the obsessive fanaticism of childhood (or the memory of it) -- "Dear Readers and Riders" could grow tedious.

This review is from: Dear Readers and Riders. (Hardcover)
If you dont want the romanticism of Henrys writtings to be ruined dont read this book. I have my copy on a shelf and refer to it here and there. The letter she put in from the girl searching for "Sham" makes me cry every time
