5.0 out of 5 stars Passionately patriotic energetic Irish music not to be missed., August 2, 2009
This review is from: Dear Sarah featuring The Flag of Our Fathers (Audio CD)
This is a GREAT tape I bought after I had met Frank singing at the Kevin Berry's Irish Pub in Savannah, Georgia where I live. I did not know he was a former Marine but my husband, himself having spent a number of years in the Marine Corps, could not help but notice the Marine emblen on Frank's shirt which he proudly wore. I TOTALLY agree with the former reviewer of more than seven years ago. Frank's deep voice, his passion for his music and what he believes in comes across very strongly in his singing. The most patriotic of songs are THE FLAG OF OUR FATHERS and THE RUGGED OLD FLAG/THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER. I also love SHELTER, SUPERMARKET WINE and LARK. As much as I love listening to this tape I loved listening to Frank in person even more. He is a seasoned musician, friendly, warm and entertaining. He recently wrote a book Clean Cabbage in the Bucketwith four other veteran Irish musicans full of really interesting, sometimes serious but often humorous stories taken from the real lives of these singer/singwriters. I really enjoy my visits to Kevin Berry's when Frank and some of the other musicians are performing. This tape is one of those I highly recommend to all Irish music lovers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Irish Enjoyment, February 7, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Dear Sarah featuring The Flag of Our Fathers (Audio CD)
Frank Emerson is a truly amazing performer/entertainer/author. Although Frank hails from Dublin, Ireland he is a Marine and an outstanding American Patriot. Frank has a robust baritone voice with an unbelievable range, which makes one stand up and be proud to be an American.

"Dear Sarah" is a CD that pays homage to all the warriors of days gone by and of present day's heroes. Frank's renditions of Irish and American tributes to the Armed Forces and their loved ones in the CD "Dear Sarah" are heartfelt and filled with emotion. He makes one feel that they are in the location in which these ballads occur. The songs run the gambit of up beat to pensive.

It is in my humble opinion that any of Frank Emerson's myriad CDs are worth more than the actual cost. One will not be disappointed! Five Star ratings all around!
