First of all, I got these so that I could run downstairs and/or on a short run outside and not broadcast the fact that I'm wearing slippers. So, they kind of work in that respect. Also, they aren't uncomfortable, especially the uppers. The material that covers the inside top of the foot is very comfortable, which is nice. The backs, though, are very low. Knowing that going in, I wasn't surprised and it doesn't bother me. You just need to make sure that you get used to pulling the backs over your heels. Otherwise, you'll end up flattening that part of the slipper.
Here's the problem I have and the reason these get only 3 stars: as I mentioned above, they're advertised as having memory foam - something I would think would cushion the "ride" and give SOME level of support that slippers withOUT memory foam don't provide. Fact is, what the manufacturer considers "memory foam" feels like cardboard wrapped in the same material that the uppers are made of and as if whatever minimal cushion there may be - and there is next to none - will be flattened even more than they already are, and in no time.
Given my experience with this particular manufacturer, my advice would be, don't waste your money on these if what you're looking for is the kind of extra support the manufacturer says these have.
I wish there was a house slipper out there with 3-times the memory foam, or even twice as much....but I have yet to discover them. Until then, this brand and style works excellent. I highly recommend them for people with sensitive feet.
