Anticipation of...Death To All,

Being a Necrophobic fan for merely 5 years now, I thought it would be easy to write a review of this band, or more specifically of this album, which I like very well. In my mind the prerequisite for reviewing Necrophobic music is to listen to all their albums, and for me the order in which I listen to those albums helps in the review process.
I have found that "Death To All" is very simular to "Hrimthursum" insomuch as the guitar riffs are echoing the same structures and tones as their former album did, and that is not a bad thing altogether. Tobias Sidegård vocals are different and are kind of flat, as compared to Hrimthursum. The addition of a new Bass player is negligible. On the lyrical side of "Death To All" I feel they are somewhat lacking in creativity (relative hate filled), and not as epic as they were on Hrimthursum, (epic hate filled). I however believe that this album falls into the natural progression that all the other albums before it did, meaning the more you listen to it, the more you'll like it, and therefore is to be measured against their previous endeavors. Personally I like all the Necrophobic albums but in reverse order, with the oldest ones being the best, in my opinion. |
