Book Description

June 13, 2008
Detective Lauren Bruni has dealt with death for her entire life. She has watched it ruin lives, and brought people closer together. Her job taught her to separate fact from fiction. But on a cold December day, all Lauren had believed in would be shattered and tossed aside. Thrust in a world unlike any she has seen before, she investigates a prominent figure's grisly murder, and searches for answers along a strange new set of people. With a killer watching her every move in the background ready to strike again at a moments notice. What is the secret of the death at the North Pole, and what is the larger horror at hand? Life lessons are learned and a realization that sometimes the most real things in this world, are the ones we believe in the least. **This title won a 2009 Editor's Choice Award**

More About the Author

Joel M. Andre (1981-Present) was born in Cottonwood, Arizona.

From a young age Andre knew his passion was to write tales that shocked and sent chills down the spines of readers. But it was not where he began.

During his teen years he focused his attention to writing poetry in the style of Poe. His work dark often lifted the brow of friends. But the passion was there, and soon the winter wonderland that consumed Lauren Bruni was created.

Fall 2011 will find him releasing a new book called Black Hill Manor.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Death At The North Pole, September 17, 2008

When I first began reading A Death At The North Pole I thought I was going to be reading a horror book. I quickly discovered this was more of a fantasy. Usually I do not chose fantasy type books to read, but I was already hooked by the end of the first page.

At the beginning of the book I did not like the main character one bit. I thought she was mean and very rude. By the end of the book my feelings had completely changed. I cannot wait for the next book to find out what happens to Lauren.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shockingly Bizarre & Great!, September 18, 2008
This review is from: A Death At The North Pole (Paperback)
I have found one of my new favorite authors! What a storyline! I love how the author uses the victim and his characteristics that are legendary and entwines them in his book.

Here we have someone most of the world adores and loves as the victim and this brash female cop swearing away and being rude to his closest family and friends! Shocking!

Joel M. Andre is definitely an author who is headed for #1 book sellers. I look forward to reading more of Mr. Andre's books. What a mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow Amazing Book!, July 8, 2008
This review is from: A Death At The North Pole (Paperback)
I was very skeptical of this book at first glance. A poet writing a novel, I was close to writing it off. But figured, I would take a chance. This book is well written, and the imagry is amazing! You actually grow to love the main character a tough headed detective who has some pretty cool revelations.

A great adventure, my one complaint is it leaves you hanging for the next book at the end! The autopsy scene lasts a bit long too. Some sharp ideas and I want to know where the story goes!!
