Danny O'Flagherty went to Ireland to research his roots what he found was his cousin Rose murdered and himself the chief suspect. Jonathan Harrington's novel takes the reader on a thrilling ride with Danny searching Ireland to find out who killed poor cousin Rose. Harrington writes an excellent whodunit with a host of suspects with plenty of opportunities. The reader, like Danny, will never be sure of the killer's identity until the very end.

If you love a good mystery, The Death of Cousin Rose is an excellent choice.

Stuck in a foreign country and with just ten days to solve a murder for which he has been named the prime suspect, Danny O'Flaherty's plans to trace his family's Irish roots take him a bit further into the brush then he had intended to go. As he digs deeper into the secrets surrounding the homicide, Danny finds that the only way to unlock the mystery of his cousin's death is to first uncover his family's cryptic history. With plenty of action and tons of fun, Harrington pulls us into an emotional roller coaster full of highs and lows as we watch our hero fall in and out of love with Ireland- complete with sweeping landscapes, charming townspeople and a certain lady- friend. A warm, delightful, earthy mystery, THE DEATH OF COUSIN ROSE will keep you spellbound as its tale weaves its way into your heart.

Well written mystery in Irish way. Untill the very last page you can be nicely surprise. A while ago I went to Poland to search for my roots. Reeding the Death of cousin Rose took me back to my European experiences. Although none of my cousins was killed when I arrived I found many similarieties between the Irish and the Poles. The story of Danny could happened anywhere in the world, not only in green Ireland. Great book recomended for people boarding planes or traines for long journey into Unknow.

The Death of Cousin Rose is a fast-paced, exciting, occasionally very funny mystery -- a nice, easy read. But what distinguishes it from the pack is its glimpse of life in a sleepy village in modern-day Ireland. I've always been fascinated by Ireland, and this taught me more about the country's culture than ten history books probably could.

After the death of his father, New Yorker Danny O'Flaherty travels to Ireland in search of his family tree. He decides to start his journey by going to see his cousin Rose, who welcomes his upcoming visit. To his shock, when Danny arrives at Rose's small village home, he finds his relative dead, a murder victim.

Local constable Gardna Kelley concludes that the American came overseas to specifically kill his cousin. Danny realizes the police figure they have an open and shut case with him being the culprit. He begins his own investigation that takes him on a special tour of Ireland, starting with his own roots.

THE DEATH OF COUSIN ROSE is wonderful who-done-it that takes readers on an insider's tour of Erin. The amateur sleuth story line is entertaining due to its non-stop suspense and the atmosphere is filled to the brim with local color. Danny is a great character who, to the audience's delight, brings New York to the Irish countryside. Jonathan Harrington shows he is a talented author who cleverly blends a well-designed mystery in a well-organized atmospheric wrap. Fans of Erin will want to obtain this fascinating novel and its upcoming sequel (see THE SECOND SORROWFUL MYSTERY).
