Refreshingly Good,
By
This review is from: Death Domination (Audio CD)
This is brutality done right: aggressive death metal with thrash elements, tons of blast beats, and not one breakdown on the entire record. While I couldn't recommend any of the previous Impious records, this one gets it right. It isn't too melodic or watered down (pretty much everything before Death Domination), but it's still pretty melodic. For whatever reason, similar death metal bands' albums just don't stick out for me as much as Death Domination.; and I can't really put my finger on it. The riffs aren't particularly original, and Impious isn't really breaking ground with their approach either. Somehow, I can remember nearly all the songs though. I guess it's just catchy, and since there isn't anything about it that I dislike, it ends up feeling just right.
