Editorial Reviews

Review

Death for Cause is a whirlwind suspense novel with lively characters in hot pursuit of deadly microbes from Vancouver to Jerusalem. K.C. Bailey communicates via fiction a stark message-we face imminent danger of terrorist use of biological weapons, easily home-brewed and exceptionally lethal. Bailey's terrorists are radical scientists attempting to impose their "ecologically correct" views on the US Government and the Catholic Church. Death for Cause is a good read, a real page-turner, with a true-to-life ending. Bailey's book is a morality tale in the guise of an international thriller. -- Comparative Strategy Book Review

I remember when this most recent ebola flare up happened, so many people hadn't even a clue what it was. It really makes you think about the fact that most of these people could be dead before we could disseminate specific care procedures fast enough.

This book addresses the scenario of some of these diseases being used purposefully against the public. Although you can tell that the writer has more experience with non-fiction, it's excellent, especially for a first novel.

There are none of the grammatical mistakes so often complained about in reviews on new writers. The plot is very fast-paced and interesting and the book is highly readable. One twist had me complaining, but I won't add spoilers. During a couple of scenes, I got the feeling the author had actually been present at some of these government meetings and it made for some really good reading. The characters are developed and are written such that you can find yourself relating with even the 'bad guys'.

The book ends at a natural point, but you can tell there's an opening for a sequel. I'd like to know what happens next, so I'll definitely pick up book 2.

Really enjoyed this book. Suspenseful. Fast moving. Intriguing plot. Because I live in a farming area I kept thinking, “My God, this could actually happen.” Story brings home the ineptitude of our government and its inability to react to even the most pressing crisis. If you want a read a scary book that will leave you shaking your head this one will do it.

This could have been a very compelling book

But too many characters not fully developed and written at a grammar school.

Disappointing

A good read. You could tell that the author had experience with several Federal agencies. Realistic story, and very enjoyable.
