5.0 out of 5 stars Death as a passage into greater life.
This look at the process of death removes the fear of the unknown and replaces it with joy and celebration. Through detailed explanation and description, death is shown as a release from ilness, pain, old age, and a life confined by material form; it is a natural process that frees the individual into the next phase of life's expression ... a sort of graduation into...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Title is Misleading
Death: The Great Adventure is not quite what I expected. The book is intended to dispel the fears that the average person has about death and dying. To that end, it is a useful read as it clears up some misconceptions about death. The title of the book is unfitting since the author doesn't takes the reader beyond the actual process(es) of dying and the fact that souls...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Title is Misleading, November 6, 2011

This review is from: Death: The Great Adventure (Paperback)
Death: The Great Adventure is not quite what I expected. The book is intended to dispel the fears that the average person has about death and dying. To that end, it is a useful read as it clears up some misconceptions about death. The title of the book is unfitting since the author doesn't takes the reader beyond the actual process(es) of dying and the fact that souls continue to exist in other forms. For instance, there is no description of the life experience(s) on other planes of existence. Individuals who have lost loved ones, especially parents who have lost young children, I suspect would want/need that kind of knowledge and the book doesn't provide it. Furthermore, many of the myths about dying, for instance going to heaven and meeting Jesus or reuniting with a deceased spouse need to be addressed in a book such as this and they are not.

The author tends to be repetetive and a little more technical than what I think is necessary in some aspects. The book (144 pages)is disappointing as it doesn't provide a practical guidance on the subject but pages 30 through 40 are pretty informative. There are better books on the subject.

a life time changing book... Sometimes, difficult to understand too, because there are so many references to so many things ! it is a big culture ! If you can go beyond that language, there is truly so much to learn. Alice Bailey gives answers to so many questions that we think impossible to resolve !!
