5.0 out of 5 stars A rousing tale of a legendary warrior!
As Bili Morguhn lay on his deathbed, he remembers scenes throughout his life. Known as Bili the Axe, and the Prince of Karaleenos, Bili had led an astounding life as a warrior, and leader of men. But the tales are not only of Bili's heroics, but of other warriors as well. Anyone who has read and enjoyed, a Horseclans story, will surely enjoy this one. Those who...

3.0 out of 5 stars "The Death Of A Legend" Disappointing, March 17, 2011

instead of a continuation of the early history of the Horseclans this books finds Bili the Axe, famous war chief, dying as his mind returns to some of the more famous incidents of his life including further details of how the Moon Maidens, a warlike all female tribe came into the Confederation and how the original kings of Kuhmbuhluhner (Cumberland) lost their heritage and using a form of "mindspeak" caused Bili's command to join them in a war against their enemies; but basically it's a rehash of information from the first seven books regarding Bili's life which was of interest the first time around but not a second time; it appears to be an attempt to bring new readers up to speed on the history of the Confederation but is too limited to do this well; I was very disappointed in the book as a continuation of the series, as a "stand alone" it's adequate
