Being a huge Kate jackson fan, I just could not miss this one. The movie itself is pretty good, Kate's performance is brilliant, and the rest of the cast do a good job too. But I am so disapointed with the quality of the DVD,it is just awfull, even a old vhs would be better !! It is just a shame to sell a DVD with such poor quality, the sound is terrible and the image is even worth !! 5 stars for the movie, 0 for the quality (only because you can not give negative rates !!)

Ive seen this tv movie in the late 70s and I kinda enjoy this film. Kate Jackson is always enjoyable to watch and of course, Bob Wagner is a fave, as always.
However, when I received the dvd I've ordered, it's a different film inside. The cover is right but what's inside the disc in something like "Yellow Canary." Hope there's more quality control because this happens quite a lot lately....

Please , when reviewing a movie , how about stating which studio made the disc. There are 2 different versions of this dvd and it would be nice to know which one is the more worthwhile buying.

I love Kate Jackson and Robert Wagner, and I love this movie. I was so happy when I found it on DVD, but the quality of the DVD is the poorest I have ever seen. It is a poor quality DVD copy of a poor quality copy of a SLP VHS tape. The quality of the DVD was so bad that my portable DVD player could not recogize the disc to play it. The film is grainy and poor. The sound is almost inaudible and of poor quality--I had to put all of my speakers on high in order to hear it. I am glad I spent less than $5, inlculding S&H. It is worse than the Korean DVD I bought of "Windmills of the Gods" with Robert Wagner. In comparison, that DVD is great! I will keep this DVD because it would cost me more pain and money to send it back than it is worth. No wonder the Studio that made the DVD is called "Cheezyflicks." The name is not for the movies! I have to agree with another reviewer--5 Stars for the movie; 0 Stars for the DVD quality!

Aaron Spelling Misses the Mark,

Arriving from New York, expecting first-time parents Robert Wagner and Kate Jackson have arrived in Hollywood to stay at the mansion of the late 1930s movie star Lorna Love. Love perished in a fire decades ago and the couple are researching a book about the film goddess, of whom Wagner's Dad was her lover.
Dorothy Lamour, John Carradine, Joan Blondell and Sylvia Sidney are all on-board to give the film the appropriate old-Hollywood vibe. Bill Macy (Walter Findlay from "Maude") is an agent but isn't required to stretch his acting chops much. Marianna Hill ("The Baby") plays the ill-fated Lorna. Unfortunately, her hair and makeup are more of a cross between Debbie Harry/Farrah Fawcett than Jean Harlow. This was originally a 1976 ABC-TV Movie produced by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Golberg. They hadn't really hit their stride yet so it isn't as glitzy as it probably would have been had it been made five years later. The script is a below-average psychological thriller/mystery that raises more questions than it answers. Wagner and Jackson seem bored and don't really wow with their performances, though their acting improves as the story heats up in the second half. I remember seeing this when it was rerun in 1977 when "Charlie's Angels" was riding high and never forgot the image of the wax figure melting. I did however, forget the creepy twist at the climax, so that was a nice surprise. It's the only thing I can recommend about "Death at Love House". The good thing is, you can probably find this for around $2 and that's not a bad price to satisfy a nostalgic craving. Be warned, the picture quality is not the greatest. Mine looked like a VHS dub with murky night scenes and low audio. Two stars.

This premise could easily be remade today. The writing wasn't very well done for this movie, but I had never forgotten seeing it in the 1970's, so that must say something for the storyline.

The tape was honestly presented in its description. I am pleased with the quality as it correlates with the price.
