5.0 out of 5 stars Death on Naboo - Fantastic, April 18, 2006

Fantastic!

Jude Watson has again excelled herself with her latest book in the "Last of the Jedi Series: Death on Naboo". My eight year old son and I are avid Star Wars fans and have really enjoyed reading this book and the whole series so far, and are now eagerly waiting for the next edition (Book 5).

Initially we were both disappointed when Obi-Wan faded into the background in Book 3 and it became obvious that the series would follow a different path. I personally felt there was some real chemistry between Ferus, Trevour and Obi-Wan that could have been pursued further. However, Watson has brought to life an array of splendid characters that can be quite amusing at times, and who we are now developing an affection for. Set within a story that incorporates moments of sadness, suspense, and adventure the only thing wrong with this book is that it is not long enough and it leaves you wanting more, especially the last Chapter.

My only criticism of the book, and of the other three in the series so far, is that they are not specific or consistent in terms of defining when this story, actually take place after Revenge of the Sith.

I feel the overall potential for this series is one that could equal or even surpass 'Quest' and 'Apprentice' in terms of its popularity and the extent to by which stories could be explored in the future. I know my son and his friends can't get enough of Star Wars, and that it is going to be a long wait till the fifth book is released. The good thing about Jude Watson is that she writes with a style that allows all Star Wars fans both young and old to enjoy a sense of adventure and escapism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, emotional and packed with action., May 14, 2006
OMG. I just finished reading book #4 - Death on Naboo ... I have no words to describe how AMAZING this instalment is.

This book is outstandingly gripping and you will see some characters from the PT movies.

I'm now conviced that Ferus Olin is a great Jedi - yes, he left the order before taking his trials, nonetheless, he proved to be a far better Jedi than Anakin. Ferus, without trainning, has showed what a real Jedi should be (compare of course to Anakin, not to the rest of the Jedi).

The plot of this book is about Padme's secret, that must be kept as it is at all costs.

The climax of this book, with an amazing flashback/deja-vu to a memorable SW moment (that I will not reveal ;)), will keep you gaping and gripping the book, like I did.

I strongly recommend all of you to read this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet again, a great book from Ms Watson., March 15, 2006
I have to say, I've been a fan of Jude Watson since I was 13, ever since I first started reading her Jedi Apprentice Series, I've been hooked. Though I am 20 now, these books still offer an amazingly rich story line of the love between master and apprentice. The Last of the Jedi series is a great addition. Death on Naboo is wonderful, it keeps you on your toes, not quite sure what might happen next. Ferus is now one of my favorite jedi, and Trever adds a heart to these books that were missing in the Jedi Quest series. I do suggest you read these books, and check out the Apprentice and Quest series as well, since it will make things in this series more understandable.
