Awesome tunes... does what it says on the tin, October 19, 2008
This review is from: Death Race (Audio CD)
I saw this film today and would highly recommend the soundtrack and the film. Don't expect high brow wit, deep or complex plot or cutting edge character development; this is all about pure adrenaline-fuelled, high-octane action, and the music is just right for the job! On the heavy side, the score weighs in with enough threatening menace, rap, meaty guitar riffs and charisma to keep your playlist feeling 'too cool for school' for a while yet :D

Killer Soundtrack (Without a Dull Moment), March 31, 2009
This review is from: Death Race (Audio CD)
The movie was laughable, but the soundtrack is a jolt of energy.
Here's a story:
My buddy and I wanted to see this movie and "Righteous Kill" with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino; so we saw both in one afternoon. Which movie did we prefer? Well..."Death Race" of course!
"Death Race" is loud and violent--and we enjoyed every stupid minute. Jason Statham is your typical, bulging, brainless action hero. He enters the Death Race...so he can save his daughter. Uh...okay Beavis...whatever you say.
The movie's musical score (if you can call it that) is very much like the movie: loud and violent--but the music cannot be labeled as "stupid." The music is actually very smart.
Each track will take you back to the Death Race. Each track is a lot of fun. Some tracks include snippets of film monologue; this is distracting, but fun nonetheless. Paul Haslinger is brilliant...or maybe just gutsy. Keep it up Paul!
Peace
One last thought: Don't listen to this in the car--if you're not centered or in tune with the cosmos, you'll most likely wanna shoot or smash into somebody.
