A lot of old classic previously relased material, October 25, 2004
This review is from: Death Row's Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is just an attempt for Suge & Death Row to keep eating off Snoop since he left and their label fell apart. However this cd is tight (it has 6 or 7 previously unreleased songs and the rest are mostly from "Doggystyle" w/ 2 from " Tha Doggfater" and one from "The Chronic"). The unreleased songs are pretty good quality and if you like Snoop they're good ones to have, but I'd download them from online (and not support Death Row's "eat off Snoop 6 years later" effort) since you probably have most of the CD already if you are a fan.

A Strange Death Row Release, June 22, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Death Row's Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Do not be fooled when you read the title of this cd. It may say: Snoop Doggy Dogg's Greatest Hits, but it also says "Death Row's" Snoop Doggy Dogg's Greatest hits. Snoop was only with Death Row long enough to make two records, Doggystyle, and Tha Doggfather. Back then, Snoop Dogg had more talent and was still called Snoop Doggy Dogg. This album did not need to be released. All of the good songs on this album are from Snoop's debut-Doggystyle. Death Row also put on a song from Dr. Dre's "The Chronic", "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang". Another strange thing about this record is that more than half the songs are unreleased. There is only one song from Tha Doggfather. Nonetheless, all of the songs from "Doggystyle", make this a good cd. Pick up "Doggystyle" instead.

Worth it If you don't own "DoggyStyle", March 18, 2004
This review is from: Death Row's Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Suge Knight strikes again. That is to make money out of his former artists. This album has 16 tracks, 8 of those are unreleased. This album is actually a good release, with these classic hits as "Gin & Juice", "Ain't No Fun", "Doggy Dogg World", "Murder Was the Case", "Who Am I". But all those songs are coming from "Doggystyle. Any Snoop fan have already heard most of the songs from this album. I will just rate the unreleased tracks. 1. Head Doctor - (4/5) by Snoop and Swoop G. This song is actually from the album "Dead Man Walking", which have all but one unreleased tracks on it. This song is pretty good. Classic Snoop. 2. Eastside Party - (4/5) by Snoop and Nate. A good song to chill to. Nate's chorus isn't as good like he usually do. Again Snoop is great here. 3. Midnight Love - (4.5/5) by Snoop, Raphael Saadiq, and Daz. Takes a while to grow on me but an excellent song. Snoop lays two excellent verses while Daz drops an excellent verse. The chorus is cool. 4. DoggFather(Remix) - (1/5) Don't even bother listening to this. I don't like Timbaland's beat. 5. EASTSIDE - (4.5/5) by Snoop, Daz, Tray Dee. Cool Song. These rappers traded excellent verses on a nice beat. Great chorus. 6. Too High (Poly High) - (4.5/5) by Snoop, Daz, and Big Pimpin'. Great song. Good song to chill to. Daz really shines on here. 7. Usual Suspects - (2/5) by Snoop and Threat. Not really feeling this. The beat is lame. 8. Keep it Real - (3/5) by Snoop, Mack 10, Bad Azz, Techniec, Threat and Kurupt. Good song. Not the best though. 9. Snoop Bounce - (1/5) by Snoop and Rage Against the Machine. The song is one of the worst I have ever heard. Get this out of here. Overall, this a good release. If you don't own "Doggystyle", then get this one. It's definitely worth every cent to spend on it. But any true Snoop fan already heard half of the songs on the album. I suggest that you just the download the good unreleased ones (Head Doctor, Eastside Party, Midnight Love, EASTSIDE, Too High). [!] PEACE [!]
