Loved it!,
By Judy Neave (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Death In The Shadow (Paperback)
Nobody is trying to nuke Manhattan in Elizabeth Chamberlin's "Death in the Shadow". Hers is the world in which most of us live - a residential community in San Diego and a small technology company where Jane Mayhew is doing her small part to help the country emerge from the shadow of 9/11.
But other shadows hover over this sheltered environment, and Jane turns sleuth to shed some light. As she does, the author reminds us of the fascinating threads that make up the tapestry of everyday life. Finally, Jane exposes the person who threatens to unravel the tapestry in a dramatic climax that leaves the reader hoping for a sequel.

Delightful,
By Ruth Voigt (Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Death In The Shadow (Paperback)
What an enjoyable story- wonderful to have a smart, working woman we can identify with solving a complex murder! I love the references to the San Diego area that brought realism to the story, and the touching patriotism with reference to memories of 911 and one woman's attempt to make a difference in her own way. Here's hoping Ms Chamberlin produces another great read!

Death in the Shadow,
By Kathleen Coddington (PA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Death In The Shadow (Paperback)
Death in the Shadow is an intriguing mystery infused with haunting emotional echoes from the 9/11 tragedy. Ms. Chamberlain has an easy, readable style that pulls you into a story that includes lots of local color of the San Diego area and a glimpse inside the world of defense contratctors. It was refreshing to have main characters that were mature adults rather than the array of the 'young and beautiful' that are the typical choices for a novel.
