This whimisical mystery involves a dog walker who can mentally talk to her dogs including her pooch, Rudy. And a real treat he is I would not mind having him for a pet cause I really talk to my babies. Anyway, she walks a large group of dogs daily and one of her dogs is a show dog. The lady owning the dog invites her to come to the dog show as her guest and the professional walker she hired dies. Well from then on there is nothing but murder, mayhem and smart ass dogs. I love it and the dogs are precious. A really fun laugh out loud mystery.

Judi does it again!,

This is the third book in the series and as expected, they just get better! I love Ellie and her relationship with Rudy and her "charges" and Luci "Dog Show Diva" was a delightful addition to the crew. Her "just stand back and let me do my thing" attitude is a hoot...and then there's Rudy's infatuation with the high-class Luci. I'm trying hard not to spoil anything, but be prepared for the scene where Ellie sees Mr. T's choice of "attire"...just about worth the price of admission alone!
We know early on the basic crime & how it's done...we think...but Judi takes us through twists and turns to the solution of the mystery. All I can say is "Judi, write faster!" Waiting for the next installment is too hard!

I don't know how Judi McCoy does it, but she seems to get into a dog's head so easily that I believe she really does know what they're saying. This book is an easy read with an interesting plot and a new way to kill someone. I remember that her first book had a different sort of murder, too, so my guess is all of her books will find unusual ways to commit murder. Yet the books are fun, funny, and well written. I can't wait for book four. IF YOU'RE A DOG LOVER, these books are a must read.

Bad Job! An author owes it to readers to know the subject!,

I enjoyed a couple of earlier mysteries in the series, but this one is horrendous. I may ceremonially burn it - or perhaps throw it in with the dog excrement. If the author wants to write about dog shows, she should spend the time to find out what dog shows are about, what the terminology is, and in general make the account believable. And if she's too lazy to do the research, she should get some experts to review and correct what she's written.
A few examples: the award is Best *of* Breed, not Best in Breed, there is no such thing as Best in Group (although one can win Group First), and a public address announcement "contestants in group 27, prepare to head into the ring" makes no sense whatsoever. And finally, there is no such award as "Winners Bitch in the toy group". And ironically, immediately after the above, we have our heroine contemplating the importance of correctly learning the terminology of the dog show world. The above egregious errors have already occurred in the first 13 pages. Anyone wanting to read a good mystery set in the dog sport should pick from one of several authors who write better stories and get the facts correct.

I really loved this book! I liked it far more than the second book in the series and am very grateful that Sam and Ellie are back on track---and not in a weird way! I loved the progression of their relationship and I love the interaction between Ellie and the dogs. It will be hard for me to wait until March 2011 for the fourth installment in the series...but I'll be buying it the day it comes out, for sure!

Wonderful Book,

This book (the third in the series) is well-written, a book you can really become lost in. I enjoyed the relationship that the main character had with her dog and with the police detective (very good stuff!) I can't wait for next book to come out.

Judi McCoy has done it again! The dogs come alive on the page. Rudy and all the other sassy dogs make this mystery series one of my favourite. Judi is quick witted, playful and puts just enough romance in the mix to keep the tension hopping. This 3rd book in the series is a huge hit with me and I can't wait for the next.

My library friend suggested this book. Not knowing it was a series this was the first one I read. After finishing it I was so happy to learn there were two previous books and immediately obtained them to read. If you have a passion for animals you will love reading this series and you may find yourself agreeing if dogs could comment, this is what they would be saying. A very enjoyable book.

This was another in the series and wonderful. You just wish that she would write faster. I bet that I'm not the only one that follows this series.
