5.0 out of 5 stars It hangs in my tax office
I purchased this item last tax season and will every year that it is available. It is interesting to my clients, and lets the reader draw his own conclusions. Although those conclusions are not always what the makers of this poster intend, I appreciate that the facts and information remain indisputable and therefore apolitical. It is well done. I keep mine in a snap...

2.0 out of 5 stars Bummed!
I forwarded this poster as a gift to a family member.... They opened it and the entire upper right corner was torn and missing! Lame! So be sure and inspect this before you pass it on as a gift. Hugely disappointed. Cool poster though... If it was not ripped up. And now it is too late to return it! Hosed.

I have been using these posters in my AP courses for years and the students love it. Simply the best tool available for explaining the budget and the choices we face as a nation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great visual design and critically important info, October 20, 2011

If you're a designer, this is one of the best examples of displays of information you will find - I've had the 2010 and 2011 versions up on my "Wall of Interesting" at a major design firm and this one always garnered a lot of attention among the many other pieces.

If you're a US citizen, this may be the most important purchase you make this year. Regardless of your politics, your views should be informed by the reality and proportion of where your money goes, and there's no better way to understand and absorb that info than this poster.

5.0 out of 5 stars An incredible inforgraphic, October 20, 2011
This review is from: Death & Taxes (1 Page Book) [Poster] (Paperback)
I own a previous year's version and will order one. I have it hanging on the way from the kitchen to the living room and it always catches all guests' attention. It can help guide great discussions with people of all political convictions. It puts things in perspective and lays them all out. No rhetoric, just facts. Agree with the reviewer who said it should be in classrooms and I would extend and say that it should be also in any political and economic organization or educational institution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, October 20, 2011
This review is from: Death & Taxes (1 Page Book) [Poster] (Paperback)
It is difficult not to appreciate the amount of thought and work put into this poster. It is an excellent teaching tool for educators, and a humbling experience for the conscientious citizen.

I started collecting these posters five year ago and I'll continue 'till the day I die. $20 may seem high for a 'one-page' book, but it is absolutely worth it. Over the years, I've enjoyed many hours of passionate discussions with family and friends over the contents of this poster. I suspect that as my collection grows, so will the ardent discourse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very informational graphical representation of the US budget!, October 20, 2011

I teach US Government. Teaching about the budget is a tough sell because the amounts are often tough to find, and vary between sources. This poster is able to not only give accurate figures, but also shows those figures in a graphical form that people can relate to. I have the poster from a few years ago and buying the updated one right now. My only wish is that it would be offered in an electronic format so that I could somehow share more easily with a class. Also, Jess, if you're reading this, it would be GREAT to have you develop an online budget simulation for use with classes (that is updated each year). There used to be one online but it hasn't been updated. I feel with your graphical abilities and your grasp of the budget you could create an amazing online budget simulation that I could have my students use. Think about it! :-)

I have had this poster hanging in my CPA firm waiting room for the last 2 years and always receives great reviews usually followed with a "where did you get that!" (now I can say on Amazon). It is a wonderful and brilliant summation of a bunch of really complex data and a perfect addition to any offices of folks that deal with taxes and/or finance, your clients will find it fascinating and informative. Buy it NOW and support this great project!

5.0 out of 5 stars Critical info made accessible, October 20, 2011
This review is from: Death & Taxes (1 Page Book) [Poster] (Paperback)
This poster does a fantastic job of revealing the critical information about our national spending, and by extension, our national priorities. Jess has created this poster for many years, evolving and improving the design every year, and he's done an amazing job with it again. It's a tool every policy maker, student, voter, and tax-payer should have access to. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars This guy is a genius!, October 19, 2011
This review is from: Death & Taxes (1 Page Book) [Poster] (Paperback)
This guy is a genius!

Finally, government spending can be put into perspective! We ought to buy a bunch of these and have then put up in every school's Social Studies class! Unless of course it would teach them to borrow 40 cents of every dollar they spend!).

While I'm sure this will be a major moneymaker for him, look at the research it took to do this. I'm filling the shopping cart!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jess Needs Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize, October 19, 2011
This review is from: Death & Taxes (1 Page Book) [Poster] (Paperback)
I have not purchased this invaluable 'manuscript' yet but will momentarily--- just the video clip explains how invaluable his work is & Jess--- this needs published on bill-boards across the nation, all front page newspapers, and given its due on every tv show from Jon Stewart to CNN. I believe that there would be global interest in this brilliant & timely work you have done. Indiana Jones, move over.

All of our legislators need to be taking LIVE votes on real people opinions -- asking for agreement or demands for change on these priorites. We have been marginalized by the "political 1%" assuming our ignorance protects them as they cater to lobbyists, advisors and economists who enjoy the patrichal kool-aid... As I heard a colleague say decades ago, "America is a good idea" but the fleecing has reached hideous proportions and what the real populace thinks is of no interest to those who believe they know better. Of course the transparency is deeply hidden in unmined spreadsheets -- how else would we be tolerating the dearth of dollars invested in Education & the development of our own communities? I can only pray for inspiration among all of us as to how to utilize this young man's brilliant creation!!
