5.0 out of 5 stars Great Band with Great Music and Vocals
I bought the "Shakedown" CD first and then bought this CD. At first it felt different but after having listened to it about a gazillion times I absolutely love this CD even more then Shakedown but they are both excellent. I would recommend them to anyone who even only remotely likes rock music. Amiee Echo's voice is fantastic as well as the music. I was born is...

1.0 out of 5 stars RIP OFF!
So the Start sign to a new label (NITRO no less) and instead of recording some new tracks.. they re-package their previously released EP under a different name. Well isn't that swell.. this is a complete rip-off for fans who've supported the band in the past.. they couldn't even put 1 or 2 new songs on there as an incentive.. what makes it worse is that the core of the...

I was born is 1956 and have an older sister that was born in 1948. In the early 1960's when the Beatles, Stones were just starting out my older sister was a teenager and listed to a lot of music so I grew up listening to most of the music from the late 1950's, all the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's as well as this decade up to the present time. I have a very large music collection of my own. This group "theSTART" is a very precious group in this collection. I absolutely love Aimee Echo's style of singing and voice. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any CD by this band having never heard any of the songs knowing I would like it. This music has a retro 80's sound but is unique, fresh and original. As Tony the Tiger would say "They're Great"

5.0 out of 5 stars 104 channels of death via satellite, January 10, 2004

If you haven't given theSTART a listen yet, you are missing out on something wonderful. Music these days has gotten boring - the same five bands grace the cover of all of the magazines, and the same ten songs are played on the radio. It's not wonder that most people have resorted to downloading entire albums for free, instead of buying them.
But this band just might help change all that. This EP (which was originally released in 2002 and has since been re-released on Nitro Records), while drawing obvious comparisons such as the Cure and Siouxsie, brings something new to the music world. Atmospheric, dancable music with a punk twist topped with irresistable vocals makes Death Via Satellite wonderful all the way through. Stand out tracks are...well, all six of them, really.
I've never known theSTART to do anything but amazing. They put 100% into everything they do and are worthy of massive amounts of recognition. Check this EP out; you'll be glad that you did.

Well isn't that swell.. this is a complete rip-off for fans who've supported the band in the past.. they couldn't even put 1 or 2 new songs on there as an incentive.. what makes it worse is that the core of the band used to be in Human Waste Project, Snot and Souls at Zero.. so what went wrong?.. This is poop! I feel used!.. recommendation for everyone.. wait for SCARLING to release their CD in a few weeks... and DONT waste your money on this! =(
