Man I mean if you like poetry and if you like hip hop then you are going to fall in love with this one. Their is a song or 2 that falls out of place but all the other ones are on point and will keep you simulated for 40+ minutes. This is political rap at it finest.

The first time I heard Black Ice speak was on Def Poetry Jam and I've loved him ever since. His lyrics are deep and if they don't make you think, you're obviously not listening to the words. I love this cd and would recommend it to anyone who loves true hip hop and lyrical value. My favorite song on the cd is The Ugly Show! I get goose bumps everytime I hear it. Great debut!!

I gave the cd three stars because prior to purchasing the cd, I had looked at an hour of footage of the artist. His work is outstanding and stage presence is phenomenal, but the cd has the poems put to music which takes away from his effect. His poems sound so much better with just his personal effort and the effects of the crowds in the background.
I would purchase it again, but only to support the artist and his talent.

Black Ice is the man. A great blend of poetry and real hip hop.

Its good to hear some thought stimulating lyrical content from front to back. This CD is a rarity in a time in which the quality of lyrical content almost counts for nothing. Big ups to Black Ice and those lyricists similar to him. It takes courage to express some of the thoughts emitted on this album - probably won't go platinum as a result. The second verse of "The Ugly Show" summarizes the tone of content throughout this entire piece of work. Not to mention the title in and of itself challenges mainstream ideas when compared to reality's harsh under-tones. Hip-Hop is revolutionary thinking. Hip-Hop is alive and well.

This CD brings life back into Hip Hop. It's real and raw. It brings me back to the days when Hip Hop was exciting and fresh. Black Ice is Hip Hop at it's BEST. What I thought was lost in booty shaken songs and 1, 2, step'n songs was found again in this CD!! Thank you Black Ice for being real to the GAME!!

the cd is cool, but not cold enough the music tracks for me didn't work well with the very strong content of black ices poems.
kill the music and go platimun.
