Fourth book in the "The Death Wizard Chronicles", May 24, 2009
This review is from: The Death Wizard Chronicles Book Four World on Fire (Paperback)
"World on Fire," by Jim Melvin, is the fourth in his six-book epic adventure series, "The Death Wizard Chronicles". In this action packed book, we pick up from book three, "Eve of War," where Mala and his army of monsters, witches, and semi-humans called the golden warriors are ready to begin the assault on Nissaya, while the druids lead by re-born vampire Urbana march to attack Jivita.
In this book we learn more about Anna, the tent city of the Tugars. The Death Wizard Torg, the Torgon, is also king of these desert nomads who are a cross between Kung Fu priests and Apache Indians. Anna is protected by sorcery inspired tornado winds encircling the city. It takes 50 years to train a Tugar to become a warrior and the best 20 of them are the Asekha.
"World of Fire" is a fast, action-packed read, full of magic, mayhem, love, sacrifice, fate and destiny. Melvin reveals more of the `powers that be' and their concerns. He interweaves philosophy with action, the knowing and the doing, and fate and free-will. Here, we experience the wars that determine the fates of two of the oldest and greatest cities, Nissaya and Jivita. And, as usual, Melvin ends this with a cliffhanger. This series would make an excellent movie franchise.
Death Wizard Chronicles is a series and needs to be read from book 1. Here are the previous books:
Book One, The Pit,
Book Two, Moon Goddess
Book three, Eve of War
