This review is from: Death of a fat god,
Opera fans, give this a pass. It's loaded with stereotypes, gives no real opera information, and is at least one-third filler. Mystery fans, it's not a very satisfying mystery. The detective, "Pryde of the Yard", is both rude and dense. The best parts of the book contain the two cleaning women, both of them a hoot, one of them the brightest character in the book. There are many excellent mysteries, some with opera as a background; this is not one of them.
