Book Description

1977
Pamela Roth, like her brilliant father, German emigrant Russell Roth, exhibits from childhood a cool composure and rare intellect. Although only a teenager, she is increasingly absorbed with the history of the Hitler period, the Holocaust, and the truth of her father’s early life in wartime Germany.

Pamela’s mother becomes alarmed at her daughter’s obsession and turns for help to Otto Ebenstein, an old friend and psychiatrist with an outstanding record for tracking down Nazi war criminals. Pamela’s youthful passion for Nazi history rekindles Otto’s flagging dedication to the cause.

When two ex-Nazis are found sexually assaulted and tortured to death, Otto begins to suspect Pamela of powers beyond his reckoning. His investigations lead him to an astonishing discovery.

Death Knell is a breathtaking novel of chilling suspense and retribution whose seed lies in the gas chambers of Auschwitz.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very original plot and surprising conclusion, January 7, 2011
This review is from: Death Knell (Kindle Edition)
This second novel published by suspense/thriller writer C Terry Cline Jr is one of the most original and fascinating novels from a man known for his original, exciting plots. A seemingly normal, albeit very protected and somewhat spoiled teenager discovers what she believes to be her father's secret identity. The girl proceeds to learn all she can about a period in history and the possibility of her father's culpability in terrible crimes of the past.

Once you've started this book don't make plans for anything else. You'll be thinking, okay, just one more chapter...all the way to the surprising conclusion.

I bought this ten years ago and have re-read it several times. I bought this copy for a friend. It's well written, fast paced, and an intriguing storyline. I highly recommend it.
