Book Description

A thrilling new full-size novel from the author of DEATHSCAPE (#1 Amazon Romantic Suspense Bestseller!)

"Until I read Sophie’s story, I didn’t realize how warrior-strong a heart transplant patient would have to be. She is my new hero. And she deserves her own hero, Broslin Police Chief Ethan Bing, who is up to his mocha-colored eyes in small town crime and two big-time murders. Rich, complex story, with strong mysteries, appealing characters, and a wonderful dog..." Diane Flindt, bookseller

Sophie Curtis is a heart-transplant recipient with some spooky body memories. She's been in her own antiseptic bubble for so long, she just might not be able to venture out into the real world again.

Whatever shred of optimism Ethan Bing had left after becoming Broslin Chief of Police had been seared out of him by the unsolved murder of his wife two years ago. Then Sophie pops into his life, and she gets through his defenses like no other, but soon it becomes clear that she's been selected as the killer's next victim.

˃˃˃ "Dana has won herself a prize for another great book. I don't know where her ideas come from but she is wonderful about making them come alive. Her characters make you want to invite them to dinner. " Margaret Sholders, reviewer

5.0 out of 5 stars Twist and Turns June 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
In Dana's second book of this series, she weaves a tale of mystery and suspense that keeps you guessing till the end. The characters are strong, struggling with scars from their past as they try to go beyond their comfort zones to better their lives. Drawn together, they discover a link between a present murder and a past murder that screams to be solved. You'll love unraveling the clues as their story unfolds.
Though part of a series, this book can easily be read as a stand-alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Picks up where Deathscene left off and runs June 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book! Sophie is strong, vulnerable and not about to let Bing go. She has major issues, and he is the Police Chief who has not one clue to solve his wife's murder. Until Sophie. As they fall in love, the killer gets antsy and goes after them. But a true hero always saves the day, unless the heroine does it first.
If you like suspense, do yourself a favor and get the whole Broslin Creek series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another excellent book by Dana Marton June 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Given an ARC for an honest review.

Another great book by Dana Marton! It kept me guessing throughout how everything was connected and who was responsible for the murders.

Police chief Ethan Bing is trying to deal with the murder of his wife 2 years ago. Its still an unsolved case. When another woman is murdered he is sure there is some connection between the two.

Sophia Curtis has grown up having a weak heart. She finally decides to get a heart transplant and start living her life. She moves to Broslin because she felt a pull toward the house down the road. This happens to be Bing's house.

Throughout the book there are a lot of twists and turns and clues to who is the killer and Sophia is trying to figure out why she is drawn to Bing.

Great book and would definitely recommend this book and the first book of this series Deathscape!

I generally don't write reviews, unless there is something no one else has mentioned. I enjoyed this read on the whole, but there was something that irritated me.

Minor spoilers ahead, I'll try not to give away any major plot details:

Sophie has had a heart transplant and is experiencing some déjà vu. She thinks that she might have gained some of the memories or feelings of her heart donor. I've read and seen movies with a similar story line, and I don't mind that the story line is a bit predictable, but it started to irk me that everyone in the book, including her doctor, seems to forgot that the heart (the actual organ) does not produce emotions. It's fine to refer to the heart, metaphorically and symbolically, as where we feel emotion, but surely we're medically knowledgeable enough to know that the brain is the origin of our thoughts and emotions?

Normally I would just overlook this, but this came up too many times, and there seemed to be universal acceptance that this was a valid claim.

Perhaps I'm in a minority, as no one else seems to have a problem with this. But like those readers who get distracted by bad spelling and grammar, I get distracted when basic logic, in this case the function of anatomy, is lost in a book.

Having said that, I read to the end and enjoyed other aspects of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Time Reading Dana Marton - Deathtrap July 17, 2013
I was introduced to Dana Marton on facebook through another author, whose name I cannot recall at this point. This was my first time reading one of her books. I immensely enjoyed reading Deathtrap. As I was reading Ethan Bing and Sophie Curtis's story, I would continually guess the protagonist incorrectly, which is rare for me. I found myself unable to set the book down even though it was a work night and I knew I would be dragging the next day. It was worth every minute spent reading versus sleeping. I fell in love with "Peaches" the male dog. I love when an author includes an animal in the story line, my favorite being dogs. Deathtrap was so intriguing that I immediately downloaded Deathscape and read it the next evening. Even though this is a series each book stands on it's own. I look forward to the next book in the series as well as reading previous Dana Marton works. After reading Dana Marton, she has become one of my favorite writers!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book! June 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
"I just finished reading Deathtrap by Dana Marton and I loved it as it met all aspects of genres I look for rolled into one - mystery, suspense, romance as well as law and order. I was totally entertained from the very first paragraph as she put me right there along with Captain Bing and his officers working through a crime scene and took me along for a wonderful ride! I loved Sophia and how she was able to overcome the obstacles that had been her life until she received a gift...which would prove to much more than what she had anticipated!

I can honestly say I highly recommend Ms. Morton's books to anyone seeking another author to enjoy! I anxiously look forward to future books from her!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Great storyline with lots of twists and turns. Kept me guessing.
The romance was really believable between Sophie and Bing but the mysteries and suspects were what kept me glued. I was caught up in the possibilities of who and why through out.
