Slim in 6 - Boot Camp for your booty!,
By Lee Mellott "Skin Care For Wrinkles" (Frederick, Maryland) - See all my reviews (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) The DVD program includes 2 DVD's (in one case) or several VHS tapes depending on which you purchase. A Simple Steps to Success Guide, and calender. Beachbody also includes an internet CD-Rom which is silly because all you have to do is type in beachbody.com and you are where the CD-Rom would take you. The workouts included are: Start It Up, Ramp It Up and Burn It Up along with Slim & 6 pack and Slim & Limber. The suggested rotation is to use Start it Up for 1 week. Then do Ramp It Up for 2 weeks and conclude with Burn It Up for 3 weeks. These workouts are designed to be intense and done for 6 weeks only. After which you can follow up with a separately sold Keep It Up tape, and do the Slim in 6 workouts in rotation with other workouts. Slim in 6 includes a little paper calender to check off your workout days. (You are supposed to work out 6 out of 7 days). It also includes a Simple Steps to Success program which explains how to use the tapes, promotes the supplements beach body sells, and has a day by day simple chart to fill in. I checked into the supplements and did not feel that they were worth purchasing as the testing was not extensive (testing was done by Beach Body) and the ingredients were unproven. I did try the vitamins which broke me out due to the iodine. The exercise tapes include exercises such as lunges, plies, squats, hamstrings, crunches etc. Debbie is accompanied by two exercisers. She is clear with her direction and is friendly but not overly chatty. Just the right pace. A clock and segment timer help you mark time and keep you going. There is also a music on/off option. Slim and Limber is a 15 minute flexibility routine for your days off and Slim and 6 pack is an 8 minute ab routine. As an added bonus Beach Body also sometimes include a 6 Day Express Diet Guide for accelerated weight loss. This is definately a boot camp diet, with about 1200 calories per day that you can add to depending on your size. The spiral bound guide will walk you through step by step the exact exercises to do and what to eat if you want to kick a** and get in gear very fast! The plan is very intense. I followed it for 5 weeks and approaching my 6th could barely stand to see Debbies pretty face one more morning! I decided to opt for an easier program instead of following up with the Slim Series that Beach Body also sells. I don't want to kill myself and will settle for a decent shape instead of a super buff one. If you want to get ripped and you don't want to join a gym and you promise to eat right..you can make great strides with these tapes. Just keep in mind they are very intense. This is a boot camp after all!

Great program, horrible customer service,
I ordered Slim in 6 four months ago and soon began the program. Slowly I began seeing reults. However, I only did the program 4-5 times a week. Had I done the recommended 6 days a week I'm sure the results would have been better. Debbie is a good motivator and I never really got sick of seeing her (the niceness helps). Overall, it is a good program and will bring results if you follow the guidlines.
However, Beachbody's costumer service is HORRENDOUS. The infomercial makes it seem as if you getting all 3 dvds at the time of purchase, when you really only get 2, and then they charge you again to get the last set. I had 8 phone conversations and 4 emails with representatives because they said they fix something and never did. They even shipped and charged me for a brand new set that I never ordered! When I finally spoke with a supervisor, she was rude and impersonal. I told her then that I would never buy another product from this company until they got their act together. Her response: "Is there anything else you need today." !!! Because of this, I would never deal with Beachbody again. It is not worth the hasle and extra money being taken that has to be replaced....order it from Amazon!

Excellent DVD!,
By Debbie is great. She's calm, cues well, reminds the viewer of proper form consistently, and guides you through each exercise and onto the next. Sometimes, though, she tells you there's only 4 more, but really, there's 4 more of those, then 8 more at double time. . . then 8 more pulses! I have less praise for the beachbody eating plan and, consequently, I use this dvd along with my eating plan. I do not use the beachbody plan which, although good, is a bit confusing and really more of an adjunct to the dvd. I also don't use the Beachbody supplements, although I am a believer of supplements. I purchase what I need elsewhere, however. Although the workouts include men, I believe this is more of a workout for females. These workouts train your same muscles every day, without letting your muscles rest the following day. The thought with this type of training is that women want their bodies smaller, firmer, and toned-- not necessarily more muscular. These workouts combine anaerobic compound moves (working 2 areas at the same time--thereby increasing weight loss) during the resistance phases, with aerobics. When you train each body part daily, you are training to be slimmer and firmer. When you train and let your muscles fully recover for at least 48 hours, you are training to enlarge your muscles. The program is intended for use 6 out of 7 days. The dvd workouts are worth the cost even without the included beachbody diet plan.

This exercise video changed my life,
This is the best, most effective exercise video I have ever come across, hands down! I not only did it for six weeks and saw great results; I did it for another six weeks and then another. In fact, I have been doing it off and on (mostly on) for almost four years. I just can't find anything better. There was one 90-day period when I did Tony Horton's "Power 90" (it was okay), and I've also added light weights to Slim in 6 to increase the toning. I only recently have starting doing Tone it Up! and Cool it Off! from Debbie's "Slim Series". And I only started doing that because I think I have finally plateaued with Slim in 6 and my body needs a change. I just wish Debbie would come out with a similar video with the same concept, (a one hour video with all over toning and cardio), just different for a change and to break through plateaus. I have the whole Slim Series (6 videos), but I don't want 6 videos to have to choose from and figure out. I want ONE awesome one. All other videos I have tried have benn either ineffective or made me too bulky. I am short, 5' 2", yet my body builds muscle mass easily, creating a "stocky thick" look if I am not careful. This is the only video that actually helped me lose weight and build muscle without looking too large. I also love that Debbie doesn't try to get too fancy, funky or complicated with her moves. They are simple and effective. No weird dancing, no annoying manic positivity, just a pleasant personality who knows what she is talking about. I can't say enough good about Debbie Siebers and Slim in 6! I lost 25 pounds, went from a size 8-10 to a 0-2 and have kept if off for almost 4 years.

Mixed review,
By I don't think that Ms. Siebers is meant to be an aerobic instructor. She is often off beat and doesn't posses a good consistent rhythm. She will often go slightly faster all of a sudden or will stop to talk about the moves and then join back in off beat and the background assistants have to alter to catch up. She doesn't call moves out ahead of time and will sometimes awkwardly transition without verbal warning to a new move. She will sometimes say there are 8 (for example) moves left and then do 12- then the pulse moves. She doesn't count her moves equally so you could end up doing 16 on the right side and only 8 on the left- leaving one unbalanced. Sometimes she will say one thing and do another (example- 'March it out' and begin jogging). The music is pretty bad- but there is an option to do it without music so I usually do that and play my own in the background. At this price point this tape should have been edited and these kinks worked out prior to releasing it to the public- but again, you will see results.

Best workout video I've owned.,
By I really have not been following the eating plan because I found it to be a little confusing, so I've basically been just trying to eat low fat healthy balanced meals and drinking lots of water which is working just fine. I also did not purchase the supplements because I didn't think it was necessary. Basically there are three main workouts -- Start it up, Ramp it up, and Burn it up. I'm no stranger to excercise, but was a bit out of practice, and to begin with even the beginning routine, "Start it up" was challenging for me. The guide says you should only do that work out for the initial week, and then move on to "Ramp it up", but I suspect for many that would be moving on too soon. Basically, after some trial and error, what I've ended up doing is rotating between the three -- I'll do "Ramp it up" one day, then "Burn it up" and then in between I'll do "Start it up" and sometimes if I'm really tired, I will just do the "Slim in 6pack" ab routine -- which is challenging in itself!! This set is really a lot more challenging than I thought it would be. I have been doing it for 5 weeks now, and I still have trouble with the "Burn it up" routine. The routines consist of lots of lunges, squats, plies, more squats, more lunges, pushups and crunches. There is also some resistance band work in the last two work outs. It is a little repetitive and boring, but in my opinion if you are not going to a live class, anything that you do for any length of time is going to be boring. I like the option of turning the music off because I like to have my own music playing while I'm working out. The countdown feature is also a great addition because for whatever reason, my brain likes to know exactly how much torture I have left! I think that Debbie is great - she talks, but not too much, and is not annoying. I don't have a scale, so I can't say how much weight I've lost, but I have been doing it for 5 weeks, and have gone from a size 14 to a size 10. The best part is, my stomach is now FLAT. I never thought it would be flat again after having a baby, and now it is. I am totally impressed with that. I would recommend it to anyone. If you stick with it, you will see results.

Don't think about it....get this program. It works!!!,
Ok, I came to this program because I saw the result of my friend. My friend weight around 185 lbs. after having her kid. Then she started doing this program. I saw her losing weight like crazy from week to week. She used to have round face, but the roundness was gone. So, I asked her how many weight she had lost so far. She told me 20 pounds already. I couldn't believe my eyes this only happend in just one month. So, I dropped my own program and got this one. I am currently doing this program for 4 weeks. I am amazed of the way I shrink in my trunk, slim down and tone. Although this workout is tough, but the result you get is so rewarding.
