5.0 out of 5 stars Acoustic Mastery, December 16, 1999
By
This review is from: Decade 1988-1998 (Audio CD)
Following Amazon links I discovered this masterpiece. A longtime listener of Dave Matthews, Vertical Horizon, and K's Choice, I was following links and liked the sound of Jackopierce. So after ordering I am blown away by how good these guys sound. I can't believe these guys are so anonymous. The music is great. Not pounding, just smooth, accoustic, and very catchy. Great lyrics and vocals. Check out "Rain", "Circle", "Jacob" and "Vineyard." As a previous reviewer said.. Greatest deal on Amazon.. 35 great tracks for 15 bucks.

5.0 out of 5 stars buy it when you still can, May 15, 2000
This review is from: Decade 1988-1998 (Audio CD)
The band is one of those that just gets you thinking. They write about real life situations. they have the ability to write a song and make it stick. this new cd is awsome i love the last song on the second cd. it has no name but it makes you think that we all need to move on. it has a line from the samples a group taht is similar to JP. i hope you love it as much as i do. thanks JP for all the great years you gave us.

Jackopierce is definately one of the greatest small bands, and it is unfortunate they broke up. This double cd has all their best songs and definately one you can listen to straight through and over again

5.0 out of 5 stars cary cary, how I love thee..., March 27, 2003

I am a huge fan of Cary Pierce and see him live every chance I get. This is a great addition to your Cary collection. If you only know Cary, you'll recognize a lot of the songs he plays live. If you're a Jackopierce fan (I missed out on them when they were together) then this is the ultimate greatest hits collection...

5.0 out of 5 stars An album to listen to from beginning to end without skipping, October 14, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Decade 1988-1998 (Audio CD)
This album is one of the greatest deals on amazon.com. Jackopierce is one of the best bands to come out of the late eighties. Its a shame they never attained the popularity they deserved. Their lyrics are heartfelt and intense at times while free and whimsical at others. I recommend this album strongly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jackopierce will always be one of my favorites, August 31, 2001
This review is from: Decade 1988-1998 (Audio CD)
The first time I saw Jackopierce perform live was during the final concert tour back in 1997. I first heard of them when a good friend introduced me to their music my freshman year of college and after the first few lines of "Vineyard", I was hooked. I love all of their albums and Decade highlights almost every song of theirs. Every song affects me in some way. Their music is melodic and beautiful I only wish the song "Back Next Year" from Live From the Americaswas included but that's all the more reason to buy Live from the Americas! Though they are no more, their amazing music will live on in their many c.d.'s.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great summation of their work, July 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Decade 1988-1998 (Audio CD)
This cd is a great compilation of their best stuff. I prefer the 1st disc the most, since it's mostly acoustic, but all their music is quality. If you like these guys, you should definitely check out the Nadas, a very quality group of musicians, which is refreshing in today's music scene.

5.0 out of 5 stars You won't be able to stay in your seat!, December 29, 1998
By A Customer

Cary's and Jack's voices will do nothing short of bringing tears to your eyes and then, with the next track, have you dancing around the room. They are modern folk magicians who can rock. "Decade " is the best compilation album one could ever own. It is all of Jackopierce's best. Don't miss "Vineyard" and "Say that you love me" on disc one or "Ocean," "My Baby," or "Free" on disc two. Jack & Cary, thanks for going out on top.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice anthology to end the journey..., August 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Decade 1988-1998 (Audio CD)
Jackopierce was a band who lived at the edge of breaking though to a large audience. This 2 CD set is a great deal, and adequately reflects the talent of this Dallas-based band. I highly recommend "Decade" to all.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest undervalued bands in America, August 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Decade 1988-1998 (Audio CD)
Jackopierce is definitely one of my favorite bands, both on CD and in concert. It is a travesty that such talent went essentially unrecognized before their breakup at the beginning of this year. If you like meaningful lyrics and a folksy sound with a bit of bite, you'll love Jackopierce.
