A visionary, a prolific songwriter, an A-list musician, a creative thinker and futurist, Joseph Patrick Moore is first and foremost a gifted bassist traversing a diverse musical landscape encompassing a variety of genres on his upright, electric and fretless basses. He has spent the past ten years touring, recording and establishing his craft. Inspired by the likes of Sting, Jaco Pastorius, and Ray Brown, the Atlanta, Georgia resident not only is the founder of Blue Canoe Records, the first "all digital" independent jazz recording label, he also has his own on-line radio station on Live365 that features his music and music from his loaded 30gig iPod (Paul Simon, Weather Report, etc.), and all the while he is celebrating the release of DECADE 1996-2005, an exciting and creative collection of "bass-laced" contemporary jazz compositions and arrangements. DECADE is a value-added album for sure as it's well over an hour in length and features 19 tracks in all including the Smoothjazz.com Picks, the lush and artful "In an Instant," and the island-inspired, sultry version of Men At Work's "Down Under" highlighting the sweet vocals of Temple Passmore. If Decade is paying homage to this talented artist's colorful and musical past it is also a forecast for his future... A very, very bright future indeed for Joseph Patrick Moore! ~SANDY SHORE
