Biography

REO Speedwagon reached a peak at Epic Records in 1980 and ’81 with Hi Infidelity, an album which has sold close to a staggering 10 million copies in the U.S. The release, which included the enduring radio hits “Keep On Loving You” and “Take It On The Run,” is being commemorated this year with HI INFIDELITY: 30th ANNIVERSARY EDITION to be released July 19th. 5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best, July 13, 2000

This review is from: A Decade Of Rock And Roll 1970 to 1980 (Audio CD)
Long before being credited with inventing the so-called "Power Ballad" REO was rocking with songs like "Riding the Storm Out" and "Keep Pushing". This collection captures the formative years of the band, and thus gives the listener a variety of sounds and styles. If you want can't-sit-still Rock and Roll this album is just what the doctor ordered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only The Best, March 28, 2000
This review is from: A Decade Of Rock And Roll 1970 to 1980 (Audio CD)
REO Speedwagon have, since Day One, been unashamedly pop with a little bit of an edge. But they're so good at it, they pull you in. This album is an excellent place to begin an REO collection, although it was released just before the group's essential HI INFIDELITY album--so get that one, too.

The real treat of this collection is that it presents half of the REO album (1976), one of the group's best and highly underrated. The four songs from that album have been gloriously remixed and sound better than ever.

Get this one. It's a real gem.

5.0 out of 5 stars REO ROCKED THE 70'S, October 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: A Decade Of Rock And Roll 1970 to 1980 (Audio CD)
Being from Southern Indiana I listened and saw probably the best party band ever, REO Speedwagon. Myself and all my high school friends in the 70's will never forget the great times we had going to numerous REO concerts in Evansville, Indiana at the Old Coliseum and Roberts Stadium. After listening to these samples on this site I had to get in my closet and bring out my album of the same and rocked well into the night. What memories I have of Kevin singing and Gary playing guitar.

If you don't have this album you don't have a complete collecion of the best bands of the 70's.
