Ranked #1 Best Seller in Bread

Volume 2 In the Pantry Quick Breads series

37 Quick Bread recipes
21 Curd, Custard, Sauce and Syrup recipes

I invite you to travel with me on a decadent and sinful flavor extravaganza, guaranteed to delight the senses.

Forget the calorie counting; forget the low-carb; forget the sugar-free - to satisfy a decadent craving.  Forget about making fussy cupcakes or decorating a fancy cake.

I started with my favorite sweet quick bread flavors and transformed them using flavors not usually found in quick breads.  I then dressed them up for more formal and decadent experiences. You know - those times when you just have to have chocolate, caramel, coconut, lemon or just something sinful and unusual, but simple.

Satisfy your craving and save the rest for later.  I'll show you how to do this using what you already have in your pantry and how ordinary quick bread recipes can be just as decadent, but simpler than other time-consuming desserts.

"... quick bread recipes that don't remind me just of the ones my Grandmother made. I like the use of different and unusual seasonings." ~ kbhere

"... recipes are clearly written and the ingredients are what most people have in their kitchen." ~ Sandy Bose

"... instructions are step-by-step and so detailed that it really is not possible to make an error." ~ Mindy Lee

"... a lot of variety in the book so I am sure everyone will find at least a couple of recipes to try that they've never seen before." ~ Chris Stomper

From the Author

I really had no idea this cookbook would take me so far.  Once I started experimenting with the spices and herbs I had in my pantry - that I had never used in desserts before - I was addicted!  And I hope you will be too.

Enjoy!
Joyce

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cookbook! April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have another book by the same author so when I saw that she came out with a new one, I had to have it. This one, like the other one I have is a sure winner in my cookbook collection!

I've always loved dessert quick breads of any kinds but they've always been too tricky for my level of expertise. I am happy to announce that armed with the recipes and knowledge provided in this little cookbook I managed to bake my first truly successful quick bread (I did the Coconut Coffee Nut Bread).

There is a lot of variety in the book so I am sure everyone will find at least a couple of recipes to try that they've never seen before. The recipes themselves are clearly explained and easy to follow even for me.

Highly recommend this book if you are into baking breads, desserts and all of that delicious goodness!

Recently I purchased the author's Fresh Fruit Quick Breads eBook. I enjoyed that offering so I visited the author's website (link provided in back of the eBook) where I decided to sign up for her newsletter. Her site mentioned a new book would be released soon. The author reached out to me, and asked if I would review her next book, so I have a small disclaimer to disclose. I received a review copy (PDF) of Decadent, Sinful Quick Breads as a subscriber at [...]

Decadent, Sinful Quick Breads, the new addition to her family of baking eBooks follows the same clean and clear layout and presentation that I found in Fresh Fruit Quick Breads — an extensive Table of Contents, considerable information describing what to bake, ingredients, adjustments for taste, toppings (sauces and syrups), as well as tips to lower the calorie and fat content. Decadent, Sinful Quick Breads includes photos of many recipes, which offers additional inspiration when deciding what to fix. The voice of her books gives you the feeling of sitting in your kitchen having a conversation with a good friend. I encourage you to consider adding it to your eBook recipe collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully sinful!!! April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
These book is absolutely fabulous. My husband is a Brit so I made him scones and lemon curd. He was one happy man.

I cannot wait for my grandson who I cook with to come over and make muffins, breads and custard..No more Birds custard at our house. He will get the biggest charge making carmel and chocolate sauces for his brother and grandfather. We will have so many things to chose from. How about making syrup?

The recipes are well written and easy to follow, Joyce has one again proved she knows her way around a kitchen. The pictures are wonderful and you get to see the finished product.
My favorite picture is the mini scones with all the different curds and custards.

Get this book and make your family smile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and Delicious Recipes! April 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great book! Not only does it have excellent recipes, but it is also a fun read. What I love about this book is that the recipes are quick and easy and the ingredients are all common ones that are already in my kitchen.

This recipe book not only covers easy to make quick breads (YUM!), but also muffins, scones, and bread pudding. The instructions are step-by-step and so detailed that it really is not possible to make an error. That is important to me. It is frustrating to make a recipe and have it flop because the directions were not clear. This recipe book leaves nothing out and leaves nothing to chance.

I know that I will be using this cookbook often and am grateful to have it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Not Grandma's Cup of Tea April 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I wish I could say that I liked Joyce Middleton's latest, Decadent, Sinful Quick Breads (In the Pantry Quick Breads) as much as I did her previous book, Fresh Fruit Quick Breads (In the Pantry Quick Breads), but I don't. While Joyce does include a properly formatted Table of Contents that interfaces correctly with the Kindle Navigation Menu, she also includes a wealth of sauces, syrups, scones, muffins, and bread pudding recipes that really aren't "quick breads." There are actually only fifteen quick bread recipes, with the remainder of the book given over to extraneous stuff and frankly, some of them just do not sound attractive to me. Cilantro in what would otherwise be a lovely Orange Cardamom bread or chocolate chips in Orange Cranberry just don't sound appealing. Others feel like afterthoughts. Walnut Maple Bread, for example contains a mere 1/4 cup of maple syrup, not close to enough to give a true maple flavor. (Do remember Grandma lives in Vermont and cooks with Maple all the time.)

I would love to tell you that I found some of the Muffin recipes more attractive, but if anything I found them less so. Some of the flavor profiles that Joyce used, such as Peanut Butter Cayenne Muffins, may be very nice in other things (this is the basic flavor profile of the peanut sauce that accompanies Thai Chicken Satay) but the idea of this as either a bread or a dessert just doesn't do much for Grandma.

Grandma found not a single recipe that sparked her interest or her taste buds enough to even give it a try. Only you can decide whether you'll feel the same.

More About the Author

Thanks for visiting my author page. Since adding my first Kindle book, I was completely surprised and pleased that it surged up the bestseller list. It's a little book of love with my favorite fresh fruit quick bread recipes. I have to say thank you to everyone who took the time to leave a review.

Have you ever tried putting together all the recipes you've collected over the years? It's not easy, especially getting them formatted for publication. But I'm a serious baker - have been since childhood, so I have a lot to organize and share.

I grew up in the 50s and 60s in southern California. Since I was in grade school, I was in the kitchen cooking and baking to help my Mother. And then I got really serious about cooking after reading Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" Volumes 1 and 2. Later I found the need to modify my cooking while raising a family. After all, my food budget didn't have room for all the "gourmet" items I would need to buy for all the recipes I wanted to make.

That's when I started cooking and baking from my pantry. Of course, I had to stock the pantry with the items I used most often. I also developed a routine for making sure I always had fresh meals to serve. My "gourmet" cooking was relegated to entertaining.
