This title '3 Decades of Soul Ballads' is taken from disc 1 of the 1988 & 2003 Madacy 3CD, 30 song set.
This Sony Music thru Columbia Records release is the same 10 song set in their 2003 release of 'Midnight Soul' above. I mistrust companies that simply re-package the same set of songs and the only motivation is greed or so it seems. Any digital upgrades...nothing said or done I assume. I have both and I couldn't tell by just listening. 1 Wind Beneath My Wings - Lou Rawls 3:57 2 You Don't Have to Say You're Sorry - Patti Austin 3:41 3 Shake You Down - Gregory Abbott 4:07 4 How Can You Stop? - Natalie Cole 4:43 5 Shower You With Love - Peabo Bryson 5:32 6 Just the Lonely Talking Again - The Manhattans 4:53 7 Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight - The Isley Brothers 4:03 8 Lean on Me - Bill Withers 4:19 9 Daybreak (Storybook Children) - Cheryl Lynn 3:45 10 If You Don't Know Me by Now - Harold Melvin & Blue Notes 3:26 Total time: 42:31 In any case these songs are pretty tasty and stand well as old school RnB/soul stuff. |
