I absolutely love this. I'd been searching for a sand-like product that I thought I remembered existing at one time. Since these are much larger than sand (but smaller than you might think from the pictures--say half the diameter of a peppercorn) I didn't think they would be able to get everything. But they do!

Now, I've never tried it in a vase. I use it to clean the water reservoir of my Resmed CPAP machine. The brilliant Resmed design has absolutely no way to reach inside to clean it. Of course I wash it regularly, but that's not enough. I knew it looked less clear than when it was new, but I was really shocked to see how much crud swirled in the water when I washed it with these beauties. And I've been breathing that stuff!

I can't think of any negatives to report. It's a little fiddly to wash them and put them away after use, but with a fine-mesh strainer and a funnel it's not really any problem. And if you're cleaning a really large vase or whatever, you may feel that there aren't enough grains in one container. Either buy 2, or swirl for twice as long.

These beads are great. I am so worried about cleaing my Riedel Decanters, but these beads do a great job and are very easy to use. I would recommend these to anyone and everyone!
