It's been a couple years since I read this book. However, I'm planning on re-reading it in the near future. The insights in this book are very compelling as they come from a profound personal experience that is both shocking and enlightening. I've recently been reminded of this book as some recent exposure to the Oprah Winfrey show has refreshed in my memory everything described in Will Baron's testimony. For anyone who is an Oprah fan, I urge you to read this book.

Will Baron was associated for a number of years with Muriel R. Tepper (also known as Muriel Isis), a channeler who was founder of the "Lighted Way" in the early 1960s (Which doesn't exactly make Baron a "New Age Priest," but book covers are written to sell books, not be accurate...)

Baron said that in 1985, "Muriel ... communicated a message from the Holy Spirit saying that I should throw away all my occult books and start to study the Bible instead. I was reluctant to accept her advice and give up my beloved esoteric volumes. I had been a member of the Lighted Way for five years and loved the metaphysical teachings... after about a year after my first visit to the Lighted Way, I became a devotee of a noted Hindu/Buddhist guru named Djwhal Khul. After the four-year relationship with Djwhal Khul, I could not understand why I should suddenly become a follower of Jesus Christ instead and be required to trash all my occult books!" (Pg. 10)

"In metaphysical terminology, this bridge, called the 'antahkarana,' is symbolized by a rainbow and is commonly referred to as the 'rainbow bridge.' This explains why the rainbow is a common New Age symbol. Of course it does not have the same meaning as its Christian counterpart, which symbolizes God's covenant with Noah." (Pg. 59)
"I heard (Kenneth) Copeland say that God had told him that Jesus would soon begin to appear in a physical form in the churches. Jesus, perhaps accompanied by his angels, would be seen walking down the aisles and then would disappear. This would occur in several churches with increasing frequency." (Pg. 108)
"Disciplining myself to continue until I received the gift, I noticed that the quivering of my throat soon changed into an utterance in a language I couldn't identify. Soon it became easy for me to speak out in this way. I felt as if I were channeling, just the way I used to do in the Lighted Way channeling groups---but this time I was channeling in an unknown language." (Pg. 167)
"However, from my own experiences and from a knowledge of the experiences of other New Agers, these mystical experiences are not the norm. In fact, I know of New Agers who have meditated for years and never had a 'mystical' experience. It is my assessment that meditation is typically a state of special relaxation and not a radically altered state of consciousness." (Pg. 200)
"I was surprised that I could not find a single instance in the Bible in which someone sat down in silent meditation, waiting for the voice of God to give him instructions." (Pg. 201)
