Wow, it's getting better and better,
By gossymer (Austin, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
Previously on Animorphs: (The Revelation, #45) Marco told his father the truth about the Animorphs and Yeerks. Visser One returned to Earth. The Animorphs were able to destroy the Yeerk, Edris 562 and free Marco's mother who was its host. She tells them that Visser One was sent to build the Anati defenses and to draw the Andalite fleet, which will be destroyed on arrival by Dracon beams located on all of the moons. At Present: (The Deception, #46): The Animorphs manage to contact the Andalite world, to warn them. Now, Visser Two arrives on Earth, and he' not happy about the state of things. He decides the best way to take over Earth is to have humans destroy everything the Yeerks don't need. He decides to start World War III. The Animorphs have only two choices: Find a way to stop the war. Or, find a way to stop him...forever... Next on Animorphs: (The Resistance, #47) The Animorphs have to make an important decision: Do they continue to fight the Yeerks in secret, or is it time to let the world know of the Yeerks and the Animorphs? And: Jake's beginning to really feel all the preasure. He's supposed to be strong, when he feels just the opposite. And if he starts to lose it, he know the Animorphs are done for...

An interesting and clever book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
The Animorphs and Ax have contacted the Andalite home world. But the battle is far from over. Visser Two has arrived to Earth, and he's not happy about the way thingsare going. He decides the best way to take over Earth is to have the humans destroy the people and the land the Yeerks don't need. He decides to start World War III.Ax, Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Tobias, and Marco know that Visser Two means business and there will probably only be two ways to keep him from destroying everything they know: Find a way to stop the war. Or find a way to stop him...forever... This book has suspense and and a lot of humor. It's definitely a good book, but not one of the best Animorphs.

The mini-series picks up!,
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
I was worried about what the ten-book mini-series was going to be like after reading no 45, which wasn't half as good as I expected it to be. But this book was a huge improvement. There was a lot of fighting, but somehow it seemed to return to the quality of the old Animorph books, even though it was short. Ax's previous books have made me dislike him slightly; he seemed more and more arrogant. This book has changed my mind about him, showing why he has always been so careful before to not interfere in human matters, and the terrible choice he had to make. The ending was brillant and echoed parts of the Hork-Bajir Chronicles, especially. The book didn't change so much from the-war-with-the-Yeeks point of view, but it changed Ax's friendship with the Animorphs completely. One of the best Ax books recently!

Not as great as #45, but still awesome.,
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
The Animorphs believed that when they contacted the Andalite home world, at least some of their troubles would be over. But their salvation is not coming from the Andalites, at least not anytime soon. The Andalite forces believe the Animorphs have ulterior motives in warning them of a Yeerk trap, and refuse to come to their aid. So the Animorphs are still on their own. When they learn the Yeerks plan to start World War III, a nuclear war that will leave most the civilized world in ruins, they begin a desperate race against time. The fate of the entire world hangs in the balance as the Animorphs attempt to stop the Yeerks. And even if the Yeerks are stopped, will the cost be greater than it was worth? I really love this new story arc in the current Animorphs books, and can't wait to read #47.

WOW,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
In this book the Yeerks try to takeover the USS George Washington and its battle group. The Animorphs steal an nat'l airgaurd F-16 and crashland in the ocean next to the carrier. The Animorphs fight the Yeerks on the ship. Will they win, or will they lose? Read the book to find out!

This is the turning Point in the Series,
By Linda Tarrell (Verndale, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
This book was awesome. It's getting more down and dirty now, since the series is coming to a close soon. There's way more action, there's more drama, and there's more of a reason to fight than just to survive. And when Ax almost does the unthinkable, it just makes it better. This feels like the turning point in the series, so it just makes it cooler.

I Wish I Could Do Two Seperate Ratings . . .,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
I wish I could rate this twice, because I have two different ideas about it. For plot I give it five stars. This is by far one of her best ideas, but . . .It's really written horribly. No expression, no details, just bare bone facts. I coudn't get into it until the very end when Applegate finally began 'writing' again. It's like she had a deadline to make the next day, so just tried to pass this off on the basis that the series' popularity would get people to buy it. She just jumps from place to place and idea to idea; it was like reading a sheet of notes. It's very disappointing, especially since I was looking forward to this one, since Ax is my favourite character, and he's always very funny. Wrong again. If you didn't know it was Ax you'd guess it was Jake: serious and in control. Applegate tossed in a couple 'this isn't my planet, I have to do what's right' lines, but that's the only place you caught a glimpse of Ax. So, way cool plot, with the Animorphs trying to stop Visser Two and the newly appointed Visser One from creating WWIII by bombing China, but disappointing, one star writing.

Half-decent.,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
Lots of people said it was really good.I really don't think so. The whole book is full of action, and Ax isn't himself AT ALL in this book.In fact,he does something very not nice which I won't reveal. But besides that,Visser Two is absolutely an imcompetent fool.Really.How could he be Visser Two,the second highest rank, if he's so ruthless?I also didn't think much happened in #46. The entire book takes place on a plane. The plot sonded exciting because it's like they make peace between China and the US,but it has almost nothing to do with China, only a small part of it. The author took an immense plot and crammmed it stressfully into the shortest book in the series,a character we always liked because he was funny but now readers just might hate him;and, it ends too fast as you'll see.It just looked so good, and I'd been looking forward to it a lot.I'm sorry if I ranted too much; it's what I think. If you don't agree, well, okay. But if you agree with me,well...don't you see my point? It just wasn't a good book at all.

Not quite as good....,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
The Deception is not quite as good as others in the Animorphs Series. My son said it was O.K. which is not his usually enthusiastic endorsement of anything "Animorph".

Psychos versus non-Psychos,
By
This review is from: The Deception (Animorphs, 46) (Paperback)
I don't know whether to call this particular entry into the series fluffy or not. But for what it is worth, it was a heck of a lot of fun, and it did show that the Animorphing bunch can be separated into two groups--the psychos and the non-psychos. Either way, it was a lot of fun with a heck of a lot of action and tension.
