Excellent Hot Read,

This review is from: Deep Deception (Urban Renaissance) (Paperback)
What can I say about this fantastic novel. It was a premier read. Ms. Mckinney brings the drama and brings it hard. She knows what she is doing. The plot in the book was completely original and the characters simply jumped off the pages and dragged you into the drama. I just couldn't turn the pages the fast enough. Just when i thought i knew what was going on i was thrown through loop after loop. I could go on and on about this book, but check it out for yourself. You will not be disappointed at all. I read it in two day, but you may not take as long with this page turner. Enjoy.

Slightly Disappointed.....,

This review is from: Deep Deception (Urban Renaissance) (Paperback)
The novel deals with family secrets, lies, and deception as they unravel following the matriarchs death. The main characters, Veronica, Victoria, and Ramon are the children and victims caught in the middle of this deadly cat and mouse game. Their long estranged father comes back into their lives after their mother's death, beginning a domino effect that quickly spirals out of control.
The books was fast paced and held my attention, however the lack of depth given each character bothered me slightly. The only character who, in my opinion, stayed true to form was the younger brother Ramon. There were many twists to the plot as the secrets unfolded, yet I can't say they were all exciting. About midway through the novel you begin to already see the end result. As I drew closer to finishing Deep Deception, the author did try to put more surprises, and plot diversions in, but by that time it only made an already unsettled pool, murkier, and left the reader with more a sense of let down and disappointment than a sense of anticipation that there may be more to come. It was as if the author said, okay I'll take every plot twist I know and throw it here in the ending. Overall I would say Deep Deception was a decent read, but again it didn't leave me begging the question where is the next installment? Ms. McKinney is a very talented author. I would personally like to see a bit more depth in both character development and plot.

How long do I have to wait for part 2???????,
By Tina R. Hayes "Book reader for life, Between ... (Ellenwood Georgia) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Deep Deception (Urban Renaissance) (Paperback)
See being that I am a Tina Mckinney fan, when I bought this book I didn't read it. Because I know that reading Tina's books I can't put them down and I knew when I read Deep Deception Tina McKinney was going to do something in this book to make me mad. I am mad because I have got to wait til part 2 comes out. And trust me if there isn't one it should be. The story is based on lies, and deceit in one family who are trying to hold on to traditions pushed by their parents.
Tina tells her story of one family torn by loyalty to one another only to keep secrets of their own. I always feel like I am in the book. The title is true to it's name. You won't be disappointed she has woven her spell and it's a book you can't put down.
