great read,

This review is from: Deception (Zebra Splendor Historical Romances) (Mass Market Paperback)
It was a great historical set in the regency period. The characters were very well drawn and sympathetic. There was a lot going on, not just a hero and heroine sighing over each other. I particularly liked the twist at the end. It surprised me. I hope she writes more.

As always, McWilliams has created characters who are real, and whom you'd like to know better. Her droll sense of humour may be her best attribute. Her dialogue is smooth, but snappy. Her command of the Regency period is top notch. Definitely, a good read.

Inadequate at best.,

This is obviously the author's first attempt at a historical romance. The conversations are unsatisfactory. So are the love scenes. At the end of the book, I just didn't find it believable that these two people were in love. It was not explained why he found it necessary to marry her. Nor was it explained how someone as poor as she obtained such an exemplorary education. I didn't like Margaret. She was a prejudiced, judgemental hypocrite.
