More About the Author

Katherine Applegate's many books include the Roscoe Riley Rules chapter book series, the picture book The Buffalo Storm, and the award-winning novel Home of the Brave. With her husband, Michael Grant, she wrote the hugely popular series Animorphs, which has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide.

Katherine was inspired to write The One and Only Ivan after reading about the true story of a captive gorilla known as Ivan, the Shopping Mall Gorilla. The real Ivan lived alone in a tiny cage for twenty-seven years at a shopping mall before being moved to Zoo Atlanta after a public outcry. He is now a beloved celebrity at the zoo, which houses the nation's largest collection of western lowland gorillas. Ivan is well known for his paintings, which he "signs" with a thumb-print.

In this book you will find a new twist on the Z Space Theory. Hint: Just keep in mind how small mosquitoes really are. If you're into aliens you'll love this book. Psychics can be a problem when you're trying to keep a secret. If you're an Animorphs fan you definately need this book.

I like when two different breeds of aliens have war. Animorphs #18 provides an excellent source of science fiction literature. If you enjoy down-right wonderfully written sci-fi this is the book for you!

It was great! The Animorphs go to the hospital where the mayor is and try to morph him by morphing into mosquitos and getting his blood (YUCK) but right in the middle of that they are in mosquito morph and then they end up in Z-space when a ship comes flying to close to there regular bodies (Ax andelite, jake human etc.) then the ship comes to help them before they loose their air then they are taken to a planet right in the middle of a war. When they are at the planet one by one they dissaper intil Ax is left. It is up to him to save the planet.... and himself. Can he save the planet and himself without the animorphs help before it is to late?
