AYP 42" Deck REbuild Kit For Sears Craftsman Lawn Mowers

Kit is good except there must have been a change as my mower is a craftsman w/ 42 in deck bought new from Sears in 2002, and the 88in belt that comes with the kit is not the correct belt for my craftsman, I need a 95 in belt. When I contacted the company stated the wrong belt was in the kit, I was told"the kit has the right belt you ordered the wrong kit, now if you want to return" the 88 in belt and order the 95 belt call our office. Well, I did not see the size of the belt in the kit as advertised. So, be aware your 42 in craftsman may use a different belt than is in this kit.. I felt the company's response was slightly rude.....Still working on the exchange..

I am totally happy with the deck rebuild kit and swith we purchased for our craftsman mower. We priced the same parts thru Sears and they were double the cost!

Excellent value, much cheaper that the oem from Sears but works every bit as well

i was shocked to see what had come. everything seemed to be of high quality. the blades, wheels, belt and other parts were very nice. great deal to get this old lawn mower back up and running.

AYP rebuild kit for my 1997 Craftsman 42" mower was exactly as expected and advertised. Everything installed as expected without any problems. Purchase and shipping also problem free.

Item was as described, deliverd on time and very easy to install. Had no issue with the product so cannot comment on their support or return policy.

We needed the belt and one shaft on one side and one pulley on the other side. Buying the kit was cheaper than buying just the parts we needed. Since we had to take it all apart anyway, we used them all and trust our mower will go much longer before needing repairs. Now we have one set of blades that can be sharpened while the other set is in use. Order arrived when predicted.

One of the pulleys was out of alignment (not a true wheel) when it spins you can see it has high and low sides but it should not matter too much.

The belt was of fairly low quality but fit well.

The bolts that come with the spindles are not "self cuttting" like most in this application. I used some threadlocker on them so they will stay. I also added flat washers as they only came with split ring locks which I dont think is enough surface area against the sheet metal of the mower deck.

Spindle bearings spun well.

Total kit is of adequate quality- certainly a big improvement over rusted out old spindles- I would say it was worth the 75.00.

my only complaint is the belt didn't fit. but that's ok i still think i got a deal. and it was delivered way faster than i thought it would be.
