5.0 out of 5 stars Another GREAT album from the Mojo crew
I can always count on these guys to come out with a new album that truly blows me away. With every album they keep getting tighter and better. The production is in a word, AWESOME. Thank God they brought back Andy Sneap. In my opinion, Andy is the best producer in the buisness. I also like Dan's voice, the melodic vocals in tracks three, five, and six gave me chills...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
What the heck were they thinking? Mojo ruled until now. Are they trying to go mainstream like Metallica? They had a recipe that worked, and this is not even from the same cookbook! The only good thing is they still bash liberals like Jesse Jackson, bums, etc... Not enough Bonz here to satisfy. I'm very disappointed with this album. I let someone borrow it and I don't...

This has everything anyone could possibly want in metal. I don't think i've ever heard better guitar/drums/rap and hooks anywhere! This is my favorite cd by them! There's a reason why Dimebag and zakk wyld love this band!

4.0 out of 5 stars Stuck Mojo-Declaration of a Headhunter, June 26, 2000

What can you say about a band who has been more true to their fans than Stuck Mojo? Their newest CD Declaration of a Headhunter has the same intensity level as their previous albums ie. "Rising" and "Pigwalk". Stuck Mojo's albums are so consistently good and every album has something different that keeps you hanging on to every lyric. the first track "Hatebreed" hits you like a freight train with steel grinding power rhythms. "Drawing Blood" contains Death metal scorching vocals which breaks into melodic lyrics filled with emotion, a truly awesome combination. A must have for true fans of Heavy metal, 4 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff, Good Mix, February 27, 2003

This review is from: Declaration of a Headhunter (Audio CD)
This CD contains one of the greatest mixes of metal, rap, and actual singing. You dont usually see any band pulling this off, infact the only other band i see doing anything like this is hed pe. Well overall the album is great, but it may take a few listenings to get used to because of the intese originality.(there is in no way reference to Rage, come on)I heard Hatebreed and I was hooked to the band. The riffs and vocals in that song are excelent, its probably one of the best on the album. Its a great song and when put into a CD packed full of other great songs, you cant get any better. The random clips of social outcries are a cool idea too. They get a message across. Thats probably the only thing that a person could see Rage doing.
-Peace

4.0 out of 5 stars An new direction for the Mojo crew, November 6, 2000
This review is from: Declaration of a Headhunter (Audio CD)
I have loved Stuck Mojo since Pigwalk, and I'm glad to see that they finally seem to be getting some attention! I heard the single for Declaration of a Headhunter, which was Hate Breed, and thought it sounded like a bit more of the same. The rest of the album is definitely something different. On Rising, Mojo began to incorporate a bit of singing into some of the songs, which I thought was a great addition. On Headhunter, this has been taken one step further, as the band has blended their ferocious rap-metal with more melodic, almost power metal influences. This makes for quite an interesting album. When the two styles blend well, they make for some of the finest moments in the band's history. Set The Tone and Drawing Blood are earth-shatteringly great songs that alone are worth obtaining the album for. The only downside is that sometimes the melodic portion gets a little out of control (ie. Give War a Chance) and gets a bit repetitive towards the end. Overall, Headhunter is a fine CD, and Stuck Mojo should be commended for this stylistic breakthrough. I think Rising was a better, but if this sound is honed and refined, we could see some truly great albums in the future

4.0 out of 5 stars The best mojo yet, but not enough Bonz!, June 20, 2000

I have to say that musically, this is Stuck Mojo's best album to date. The addition of keyboards and samples add more depth to the songs. While still keeping their hard edge, the band explores a larger dynamic range. There's even an awesome instrumental called The Ward is my Sheppard. Dan's voice compliments the songs perfectly! Bud's drumming is more adventurous and better than ever. My only criticism of this album is that Bonz's awesome raps seem to have been pushed into the background. In fact, Rich wrote the lyrics for this album even though Bonz wrote all of the lyrics for the past 3 albums. If you want to hear Bonz's sweet rap stylings I would suggest you buy Rising before you get this album. If you want to learn more about the band check out my new Stuck Mojo message board. It has a free mp3 of Hate Breed as well as links to the best Mojo sites on the web!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better Recording + More money = WAY better record!, September 18, 2000

Wow! I was always a Stuck Mojo fan since the "Rising," but this album blows all the others out of the water. They obviously spent more money and put more time on this album. And the best part is that Bonz is actually singing--and he sings REALLY good! A must-buy for any Mojo fans or metal fans alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE decelartion of Nu-Skool onslaught, June 22, 2000
By

(REAL NAME)

THE declaration of nu-metal aggression comes forth, rising from the south in the monster of BBQ's, NASCAR, Wrestling and good ol' down home fun. This is not your stero-typical SoCal rap-influenced-rock being laid down, this is STUCK MOJO. Instantly the Mojo family belts the listener with catchy guitar hooks, percussive blasts and dominating grooves. It is everything any nu-skool kid wants and long time Mojo fan needs to hear. What sets Declaration... apart from previous Mojo offernings, and every other mainstream metal release this year, is the new take on Mojo's dynamic vocal stylings. Frontman Bonz delivers his patented rap-core stance with precision and aggression in rare form, but the songs are more accentuated by the melodic inflections Mojo experimented with recently. New basist Dan Dryden's dry, yet distinctly melodic vocal approach counters Bonz' poetic bantering and is then offset by guitarist Rich Ward's throaty growls. A triple threat of vocal deliveries that are as infectous as the grooves they layer over. Driving the Mojo sound beyond the trinity of voices is the overall crafting of the songs. Intigrating three voices into memorable tunes is a difficult task, but every catchy melody is matched by an equally impressive guitar lick and moshable underbelly. An interesting addition to the Mojo stance is the intersperced socio-polotical comentaries throughout the album. Both lyrically in the songs and in seperate passages of decleration

between songs Mojo takes a definative irreverance for the norm and encourages individual education and responcibility for the current trends in society. The end result are infectous, sociologically concious and devistatingly agressive songs that are as hard hitting to the soul as they are to the mind. Mojo have declared war on the passive, booty-inspired pop-metal outfits around them in a no-holds-barred match up of technical ability and inspirational songwriting that will decisively land them on top. If you are ready to play in the big ring than join in the Delaration... of aggression and education that is Stuck Mojo and help leads the next generation of pop-metal stars to thier grave.
