This review is from: Declassified: John Lennon (DVD)
See how the FBI kept track of the pop icon during the heyday of the Beatles' success.

*Trace the history of the FBI's counter intelligence program (COINTELPRO).
*DECLASSIFIED delves into formerly secret government archives to reveal untold stories.
*See why the FBI deemed John Lennon a potential threat.

Under the old order of U.S. intelligence agencies, the FBI had America and the CIA had the world. From 1956 to 1971, the FBI reacted to social changes such as the Civil Rights Movement with a sweeping counter intelligence program, inelegantly dubbed COINTELPRO.

DECLASSIFIED opens up the archives of this questionable undertaking to see just who Hoover's G-Men viewed as potentially un-American. John Kerry and Martin Luther King Jr. both made the list, but so did one very famous Brit--John Lennon. Using information obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, this program details how John, his family and his friends were affected by the FBI's attentions. Though the program was secret, its effects were obvious to many, including the Beatle who came to adopt America as his home, even while the FBI was watching his every move.
