Review

I have always been a hoarder and the "you dont use it/need it" logic never really worked for me. When you went into the psychology of letting go, it finally made it easy to get rid of all those unneccessary items! So a big thank you for helping me doing something in a few hours that I have been trying to do for years! - Michelle Zar (reader)

More About the Author

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit". Aristotle

I would change that to say "Happiness is not an act, but a habit". Choose to be happy. Do it on a daily basis, in small things and details. Be the owner of your time and you'll be the owner of your life.

That's what my books are all about. I provide action plans for you to get rid of stress, get things done, remove clutter from your life and find internal peace.

A few years ago the stress I was suffering at the workplace made me touch bottom. I decided to turn my life upside down for good.
Decluttering, systematizing and simplifying are my new rules. I apply them to all areas of life: my house, my business, etc. That's how I know my systems work because I use them before I share them.

Hoarding too much stuff is a mental illness, plain and simple. Far too many people in North America, myself included, have or have had this illness. About two or three years ago I read a book similar to this that literally changed me from a pack rat to a minimalist over night. My life has been very different since then. I find I'm not longer material possessive or concerned with simple possessions as I use to be. I feel free and much lighter than before.

This is a great book that provides a very detailed explanation on how you can start reducing the clutter in your life starting today. I read it to go over the knowledge again that I had learned about clutter in my life before. This also explains the reasons why so many people hold onto certain items and become hoarders. You have to find your reason and then realize that life without all that junk you are hoarding is so much more simple and complete.

I now have time to focus on the real important things in my life instead of worrying about every little trinket in my house.

With this book you can start organizing your life and get rid of clutter today.

My wife been bugging me to clean out our garage and basically said if I don't organized the garage within a week...everything being dumped! She don't understand how hard it is to choose item to keep or dump, everything has it's memories :)

Well the line was drawn and had to get to work but where do I start? I'm glad I came across this book on my Kindle because it actually help me figure out where to even begin...the key tip I got from this book was to "start small."

That tip alone got me de-cluttering my garage within the week my wife demanded. This book also provide advice on what to keep and what to throw away! Easy to read and follow along!

This book saved me a ton of time since I didn't have to read 200 pages like a typical book I would get at a book store or from my local library. It covers every area I could think of and might make my house unrecognizable! lol

I particularly liked Julia's suggestions on handling financial documents and the treasured family photos. Even though I've known about the VHS tape idea for quite some time, I've been guilty of procrastinating for far too long.

Without giving too much away in this review, I also liked Julia's simple idea of how to generate money to purchase organization accessories... kind of like killing two birds with one stone. And what to do if you're not the yard sale type of person. Divide and conquer. Thanks Julia.

There are some great tips and suggestions on how to get your home organized. I just moved into a new place and picked this book on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised. All the things in this I can use right away to get my new home organized and looking great. If you are the type of person who wants things looking organized and "clutter free", I suggest grabbing this book.

I like this book because it goes straight to the point. Picked up this little book just to get some ideas on how to organize my apartment. I'm glad I did. The book actually covers everything from the psychology of clutter (why we keep things we don't need?) to a step-by-step decluttering plan that you can apply right away to declutter your home.

I totally agree with the author when she says that "the more often you clean, declutter and organize your life, the easier and less stressful it becomes." So, why not start decluttering today? I did, and I'll keep doing it regularly for the rest of my life.

I have wanted to start organizing the "chaos" that is my attic and garage, but it is so difficult to know where to start. I actually feel better with less clutter around so this book was a great blueprint to get started. It really isn't as stressful as you think once you have a plan! The key is to start with the little projects. It doesn't need to happen all in one weekend. This was a great read for a great price.

I fancy myself as somebody who maintains a semi-minimalist lifestyle, and decluttering is a HUGE part of that mindset. As the author so aptly points out, clutter is just part of life. What we do with that clutter, however, determines the type of home we choose to live in.

I truly appreciate the 'start small' approach to decluttering. I've turned my girlfriend onto this tactic, and we've made great strides in keeping our apartment free of unnecessary clutter. Now, we make monthly trips to the local Goodwill, and we donate all the stuff we no longer need that may benefit others.

This is a well written book; concise, succinct, and with actionable advice. The 'perceived value' of this book will never go down...!

Who doesn't need tips on decluttering LOL? I picked this up because I'm smack dab in the middle of opening up the space in my home and life by letting go of the clutter that seems to have taken over!! I think my favorite quote in here was "If you have to think too hard about it, it can be placed into the outgoing pile rather quickly." Good advice!
