Declutter Your Mind shows engaged and involved moms and home managers how to streamline routines, alleviate stress, organize their minds and homes, and increase productivity.

This book is all about putting into place effective habits so that the routine administrative details of life do not cause undo stress and we, as mothers in the heart of our homes, can peacefully and intentionally make good choices about what to do without feeling like we have a million details pulling us in a million directions at once.

One benefit of maintaining order and organization is that it frees not only time but also creative energy and our ability to be fully present in the moment. Learn how to reclaim calm self-control and self-possession, so that you can fulfill our roles and responsibilities to the best of your ability.

5.0 out of 5 stars Concise, Practical and Do-able October 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is actually from Mrs. Watts. I have followed the author's blog for a while, including the posts when she first reviewed Getting Things Done. I figured that she pretty much covered it in her blog posts. I was wrong - she gave a taste of what GTD looks like but this little book provides details tailored to moms. I especially like her encouragement to take what you can and do what you can with it - this is not an all or nothing approach. Obviously, the more you can do the more organized things will be.

I am someone who cleans and organizes better when I have a friend telling me to get rid of it. In some ways, this book is serving that purpose but not just with my stuff - with projects and plans too. It is helping me to discern what things are worth actually keeping in an "open loop" and which are just dreams or other people's expectations that are taking up valuable time and resources. This is a practical tool for helping organize your life so you have an up to date calendar, ideas and action steps in lists and a place for reference information that you can find when you need it.

If, like me, you are used to relying on your brain and wondering why your husband and children can't read your mind - you might want to check this out. If you want to help children learn responsibility by passing some things off to them this might give you some tools to do that. I have just started and already it has helped lighten my mental load and helped me get rid of stuff that I just don't need.

3.0 out of 5 stars Redundant but useful October 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
If you have read Paperless Home Organization by this author and GTD by David Allen then this book is unnecessary. As I was reading it, I kept thinking that this is the same stuff I read in the author's first book and a summary of David Allen's book.

Redundancy aside....the author does a great job of translating David Allen's book into mom and homemaker terms. If this is your first encounter with this author, you will find this book incredibly useful and practical.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent with a lot of good ideas April 1, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I took my time reading this - there are a lot of good ideas in it. I appreciated that the author adapted them for homemakers. I thought this was well put together and informative. Reasonably priced too, for the amount of information inside - it is not "fluff." Highly recommend if you are looking for new ways to be more organized!
