4.0 out of 5 stars Good But Short Guide On Decluttering Your Home. October 3, 2012
By E.G.
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a well written book that is organized in two general ideas: how to get motivation to declutter your home and specific advice to complete the task successfully. I find this is a good way to help us managing a clean and tidy living environment for our families to enjoy. Let's face it, most of the times we simply leave mundane tasks such as this one because of our busy lives, but we always end up reaching a point of no return where something must be done. Do we have to live in a cluttered jungle that put more stress on us on top of our daily obligations? No way! We have the power to remedy this problem and I can tell you that Declutter Your Home does a good job teaching how to do it.

I would had liked to see more extensive advice but considering it is a short ebook I am pleased with the structured information that the author has set. Instead of talking generally, Helen Larossa covers individual rooms like the kitchen, living room and so on. This is particularly practical because once you read the whole book you can quickly look for the specific ideas for a given room. I can't wait to put the tips I've learned into practice, especially in my office room.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just What I Needed October 28, 2012
By ArthurW
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An excellent little book. This book was suggested to me since all the other attempts to get me to "de-clutter" have failed. "Oh not another one" I thought but I was very pleasantly surprised. Over the years I've read (sort of) books to help me change my life, change my home, change my way of living because I'm doing it wrong - ask my family - and they haven't worked. This one did work! No grandiose plans, no feng shui, no calls to my better self just a really sensible approach aimed at "me" and where I am. A simple action sequence with a daily routine even I could live with. Good reasons to do them and nicely phrased support to keep the momentum going. Start with the flat surfaces, move on to the bedroom, reinvent my favorite spots, "look" each day. Once the book "got to me" (in a pleasant sort of way), the practical things to do just flowed and worked. I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gave me a step in the right direction October 14, 2012

If you are looking for a quick step by step guide to help you get up and going with clearing your house - then this book is one you should read. It guides you on how to deal with each room within your house and drills into some items you should consider keeping or throwing out. Truth is, it may not be as easy as the book make it out to be but i love the fact that the author recognizes that and provides a motivational plan or an idea on how to keep yourself motivate through out the process.

5.0 out of 5 stars CLUTTER, A DEBILITATING DIS-EASE October 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Clutter is a most debilitating disease because it creates dis-ease in every area of your life. When your home environment is chaotic, so is every area of your being, your mind cannot see with clarity the next step to take, your heart is full of anxiety and there is no room in your life for new experiences.

This book arrived at the right time in my life. Though normally tidy and peaceful, I was getting uptight about things that don't normally bother me. The title of this book brought my attention to the fact that I had for the last few months neglected my home environment by focusing entirely on my business, and the chaos that was mounting in my office space was reflecting as chaos in my mind and was preventing me from thinking clearly. I gave myself a couple of days to clean up some of the clutter and already my approach to work has become more systematic and more focused.

The beauty of this book is that it not only gives you step-by-step instructions as to how to declutter each room in your house, but she starts off by giving you the right approach to tackle the clutter by changing your organisational style. This, in turn spills over to other areas of your life. IT ALL STARTS IN THE MIND.

Format:Kindle Edition
Wow! Helen must have written this book for me! My house could certainly do without the clutter I have amassed over the past 30 years. Now I know how to get started.

I especially like the chapter about motivation. Without this, the rest just won't happen!

If your home looks the way mine does, then you'll want to get this book to stop the clutter now. A must read for pack rats like you and me.

I use to hate tidying up my room and then leaving and coming back to a war zone within hours. This read really helps in being motivated and disciplined in keeping you area tidy. Now onto the rest of the house.
