Book Description

One of the luxuries of modern life is the ability to step back from the chaos and try to improve our quality of life. Sometimes this is spiritual; we learn to meditate, start going to church, or read books about spirituality. In some instances, we want to be physically healthier so we eat more fresh vegetables and start exercising.

We also improve our life quality when we enhance our home space. For a long time, we thought the best way to enjoy our space more was to add to it. The latest knick-knack was put on the shelf or a room was re-painted to reflect modern trends. That mentality that brings us here: to a time when people are looking not to add to a room or house or apartment, but to take away from it in the attempt to make an enjoyable environment.

Once you have simplified your space, once you have decluttered, you will find a space that feels as though you breathe easier. In some ways this is logical; there is less to clean or trip over. But an uncluttered space also, somewhat mysteriously, impacts our mood. It gives us a feeling of serenity and peace.

I hope you find that serenity once you have made your space a sanctuary by removing unwanted clutter from your life. In the pages of this book you will find tips, systems, and methods to help you declutter your home, leading you to that sense of peace and contentment.

Editorial Reviews

Review

When I first saw, 'How to Declutter Your Kitchen?' I thought to myself . . . 'Oh my, another book on clutter.' This book is nothing like I've seen before. From the very first sentence it has been 'fast reading' to the end of the book in just a few hours. It is easy for a person to start applying all the clever ways of decluttering the kitchen. I liked the clever quotes at the beginning of each chapter. -Glorianna Piercey

The writing and instructions are really clear and concise, but I also found myself cracking up several times because I can relate so well to the scenarios presented. - Jean

4.0 out of 5 stars Concise, with a little entertainment September 20, 2012
By Jean
Format:Kindle Edition
The writing and instructions are really clear and concise, but I also found myself cracking up several times because I can relate so well to the scenarios presented. Not only will this book help me de-clutter from years ago when I didn't think twice about accepting hand-me-downs and buying clearance items at Target, but it's helped me realize I was in serious denial about my on-going attraction to clutter! The herb-keeper I bought a couple months ago and used once? Those tea bags going stale in the cupboards? And the mugs!
I now have a game plan and know exactly how to tackle one cupboard at a time - and my roommate is supportive of it too! Looking forward to a cleaner kitchen - for good.

FYI: The older people have in mind that every single item we get rid of . . . makes it easier for our children when we die. Our children have less to get rid of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Ideas on Organizing One's Kitchen October 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A very good read for someone who needs a bit of help in organizing their kitchen. It's an easy read, and it makes perfect sense. I think it would be especially helpful for all of those chefs who dream of someday battling it out on the competitive stage to see who can be the most creative with a stalk of celery in under 30 minutes. Make yours the perfect battleground kitchen! It might also help the hoarders out there. And it might just help the person who needs a bit of help in organizing their kitchen!

5.0 out of 5 stars a good little book October 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
How to Declutter Your Kitchen is a good little book. sometimes we just need to remember if we threw out things we don't need taking up space in the cupboard we could have a cleaner counter. Also remember the title says declutter not de-hoard but you have to start somewhere. I also felt the author had a sense of humor when he said if your roommate is the clutterer ask them to cook and clean for a week. Really? Wouldn't they just bring home takeout? It's worth a read.

1.0 out of 5 stars No useful information here October 22, 2012

No useful information here. Pretty much just tries to motivate you, by saying how great it will be when you are done. The rest is common sense.

This book contains some good tips to help get your home in order. 4.0 out of 5 stars Clutter free writting August 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Helpful little guide, like an extra long magazine article that you can read in one session, but you keep on hand to refer back to. Great selection of quotes and aphorisms head each new chapter. Great read to kick off a fresh start.
