4.0 out of 5 stars nice sink, but details unclear
I am happy with this sink and like the look of its profile and contrast to the black granite I have it sitting on. Unlike the other reviewer, my sink came with stainless steel insert for overflow...so it looks like the picture.

My only complaint is that I was surprised when I receive it that the bottom of the sink is not flush with the bottom rim (foot)...

3.0 out of 5 stars Old picture of a nice sink
This is a nice vessel sink. The picture shows a chrome trimmed overflow which is no longer a feature. It used to be a plastic insert that probably wouldn't last anyway. The overflow is now just a ceramic hole. Above the overflow is the brand name "DECOLAV"

This review is from: Decolav 1440-CWH 15-Inch Round Ceramic Vitreous China Vessel with Overflow, White (Tools & Home Improvement)

My only complaint is that I was surprised when I receive it that the bottom of the sink is not flush with the bottom rim (foot). The vanity surface (in my case granite!) had to be cut out in irregular "key shape" to accomidate the protruding drain apparatus and overflow. It cost some extra money to have this cut, but looks good now that its in.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing and troublesome, July 27, 2009
This review is from: Decolav 1440-CWH 15-Inch Round Ceramic Vitreous China Vessel with Overflow, White (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought the Decolav vessel sink for it's looks. Unfortunately all the photos of this product don't show the ugly bulge at the back of the sink that spoils the look; the large mirror on my wall makes this all the more obvious.

My sink did come with a plastic insert for the overflow - and the overflow is the reason for the strange bulge at the back of the sink.

As Brad in NC mentioned, the sink requires an unusual 'keyhole' type cut in the granite. I went to what I thought was a reputable company to buy my granite (recommended to me). They were provided with the installation diagrams for the sink but completely ignored them; instead of cutting a keyhole shape they cut a rectangle, leaving two large holes at the back of the sink when they tried to install it. The granite has effectively been ruined and I'm without a sink or useable bathroom cabinet at the moment.

I appreciate the company that cut the granite are at fault, but because of the ugly overflow design the sink installation is more complex than it should be. On a recent trip to Lowe's I found a sink of similar shape and size that was half the price of the Decolav and didn't have the overflow bulge. Seemingly a more attractive design without the potential installation headaches, and around $60 plus tax. That makes the Decolav impossible to recommend.
