5.0 out of 5 stars Great Photos, Excellent Preface, June 3, 2009
This review is from: Decorated man: The human body as art (Hardcover)
In buying the book (as part of researching for a book project of my own), I was interested in Andre Virel's preface and was not disappointed. He makes uniquely thought-provoking points about the bio-psycho-social meaning of skin. But in addition to having satisfied my academic interest, I was also impressed with the photography and narration in the book. Stunning pictures, astute captions. As far as large coffee table books go, you are likely to keep this one even if your coffee table itself doesn't survive the next move! This one is a classic.
